The youngest son of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip is far from the most mentioned member of the royal family, although it is believed that he is the favorite of the royal parents. Unlike the public, who adored Princess Diana and then bewitched and spontaneous by Sarah Ferguson, Prince Edward always disliked the wives of his older brothers. But why did they not please their brother-in-law so much?

British history remembers that Edward was the only BCS member to accept Diana with undisguised dislike when she married Prince Charles. The kiss of a couple on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on their wedding day could enthrall the whole kingdom, but not the future Earl of Wessex. In her book on Edward, royal biographer Ingrid Seward writes: "Almost alone among the royal family, Edward was not impressed by [Diana's] glamorous image." The same rejection by Edward followed towards Sarah Ferguson when she married Prince Andrew.

Like Prince Philip, the Earl of Wessex blamed Diana and Sarah for the fall in the public eye of the royal family. This is what Seward insists in his work: “Having taken over from the Duke of Edinburgh, he (Edward) said that it was they who were significantly responsible for many of the difficulties that befell his family and undermined its social position. The prince did not appreciate his daughters-in-law, the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of York."

During their stay in the royal family, Diana and Sarah had a lot of scandals (read also: "Diana and Fergie Vs Megan and Kate:" sworn friends "of the royal family"). Lady Dee was a true revolutionary in the conservative family: she did less glamorous types of charity than her predecessors, transformed the way royal births look like, and attracted the most attention to the story of Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, while many on her the place could simply remain silent.

At the same time, Sarah, originally adopted by the royal family, became a real outcast. After the divorce from Prince Andrew in 1996 (the same in which Charles and Diana divorced) and beach shots in which the American millionaire kisses Sarah's feet, the point of no return has been passed. Twenty years later, Ferguson remains in his usual place in BCS and continues to actively participate in the lives of his daughters, and therefore the English court, but, alas, this clearly does not change Prince Edward's opinion.
