The former lover of the honorary Spanish king Juan Carlos, Corinna Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn has once again testified in court in connection with the financial scandal of the abdicated monarch. Among other things, the woman spoke about the threats that came to her from General Felix Sans Roldana, the former head of Spanish intelligence.

According to Corinna, he threatened her with "the fate of Princess Diana" if Sain-Wittgenstein-Sain did not return Juan Carlos's confidential papers.

Juan Carlos I and a German aristocrat met in 2006. Since then, the woman has often accompanied the monarch to informal events. The courtiers claim that they were just friends, but the Spanish press is confident that there was a love affair between the businesswoman and the former ruler.

Since 2012, Juan Carlos has been mired in lawsuits over the possible existence of undeclared accounts and real estate in Switzerland. In this case, Corinne's name was constantly featured. According to the prosecution, the ex-monarch used his girlfriend as a figurehead to hide his foreign property.

That is why Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn was repeatedly summoned to testify in court. But this time, her story was especially intriguing (see also: The threat of the monarchy: what dark secrets the mistress of the king of Spain is ready to reveal). According to Corinna, in 2012, General Felix Sans Roldán threatened her and her children with physical harm if the woman did not return some documents, apparently proving the fact of wrongdoing on the part of Juan Carlos.

“The general set various conditions and gave instructions, recommendations that I had to follow. He said that if I do not cooperate, he will not be able to guarantee me and my children physical safety,”said a former girlfriend of the honorary king.

The woman claims that the general acted at the behest of the monarch and chose a very unusual way to communicate what exactly awaits Corinna in case of refusal. Immediately after meeting Sans Roldan, Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn found at her home a book about the death of Princess Diana. A few hours after that, Corinna received an anonymous call, an unfamiliar voice on the other end warned that "there are many tunnels between Monaco and Nice" (Diana died in a car accident in a Paris tunnel). “This was clear evidence of the danger I was in,” Corinne said in court.

General Sans Roldan himself denied the woman's testimony, and the honorary king Juan Carlos refuses to comment on any accusations against him (read also: Scandals of the Madrid court: King Philip VI deprived his father of content).
