Designer John Galliano, who has not taken part in fashion events for the last three years, is back in print. He attended the British Fashion Awards on December 1 in London and even presented one of the awards.
Galliano three years ago was at the center of a serious scandal. He was accused of anti-Semitism for intemperate statements in a Parisian cafe. The case went to court, and the designer not only paid a fine, but also lost his job at Dior, where he was the creative director, and was also suspended from managing his own brand, John Galliano. After the incident, John Galliano repeatedly publicly apologized for his behavior, but for a long time he could not fully return to the world of fashion and find a job. Most recently, he worked at Oscar De La Renta's studio and was also the creative director of L'Etoile. It was only in early October that he officially received an offer to head the design headquarters of the Maison Martin Margiela brand.
In the meantime, Galliano is preparing a new collection for the Belgian brand, which he will present in January, he decided to gradually appear at social events. So at the British Fashion Awards, he presented the award to the editor-in-chief of the American Vogue magazine Anna Wintour. She, by the way, as a sign of support, dressed in a dress from John Galliano.
