The balanced and unhurried residents of Switzerland are smart in everything - from spending money to approaching food. Moderation in their case is not an end in itself, but the genetic code of the nation. This becomes clear as soon as you step on board a SWISS aircraft and find yourself surrounded by restrained pastel colors, simple cut and expensive materials. Quality of life comes first and no questionable experiments.
Since opening in 1861, the Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne has never closed, maintaining and cultivating the spirit of luxury honed over the years. During this time, the service was refined to automatism, privacy was elevated to a cult, and rooms resembling palace halls were overgrown with all kinds of gadgets and wonders of scientific and technological progress. Today one of the main "attractions" of this place is Olivier Burcan, nutritionist of the Olympic Sports Confederation of Switzerland. Having systematized knowledge and many years of practical experience, he has developed a unique system of nutrition and training, for the sake of which those who want to lose weight, regain strength and change their lives have come here from all over the world. It is no coincidence that the two most popular programs are called "Vitality" and "Recovery".
The essence of the method turned out to be simple, logical and easy to implement. "The main reasons for being overweight are overeating, high sugar intake, constant snacking and low physical activity," says the doctor confidently. - Therefore, the first thing to do is to exclude snacks. They raise insulin levels, and in these conditions, fats do not burn for several hours. At the same time, it is important not to feel hungry. That is why the basic diet needs to be well balanced and take certain foods in the time allotted for them.
In practice, it looks like this. According to the laws of chronobiology, in the morning you need to forget about sweets, however, as well as about flour. Protein is what will help you last until lunchtime and energize for the day. Eggs, cottage cheese without honey, a slice of chicken or turkey, and even slightly salted salmon. It is better to choose fish or seafood during the day. And at five o'clock it is perfectly acceptable to pamper yourself with a piece of dark chocolate or fruit. For dinner, stew vegetables and sit down at the table no later than seven o'clock."
Before getting an individual nutritional system and training program for "lifetime use", hotel guests make a check-up. After that, Mr. Burkan takes over the strategy. “First of all, I teach people to understand how their body works,” he explains. - After that, a meal plan is drawn up. My recommendations are passed on to all restaurants and cafes of the hotel, where they make sure that the table is not only useful, but also varied. By the way, one of the points of the program is called "Joker". Two days a week (but not in a row) you can eat anything. Without going too far, of course!
Another important point is sports. Ideally, physical activity should be given 3-4 hours a week: walking, running, swimming … My recommendations are not designed for ten days or a month. This is a story for a lifetime, which should change consciousness and attitude towards oneself."
