Actress Gillian Anderson has confirmed talks with Fox about a sequel to The X-Files. Previously, representatives of the studio announced their desire to revive the series and bring the old team to work on it. Whether the negotiations between Fox and the creators of The X-Files were successful, and whether the project will still be launched, is not reported.
In January, the press reported that the American television channel Fox was interested in reviving the X-Files series. Then the creators of the story about agents Mulder and Scully did not comment on it in any way, and the actors doubted their participation in the project due to their employment in others. Later, the leading male role in The X-Files, David Duchovny, said that he was confident in the return of the series to the screens.
Now Gillian Anderson has confirmed that the creators' negotiations with Fox are in full swing. “We are still at the negotiation stage. We all hope that they will end successfully, and everyone is very interested in continuing. At the moment, nothing has been signed yet, as far as I know. But it always happens when you are trying to reach an agreement with such a large company as Fox - negotiations can take months, and little depends on us here,”said the actress.
The X-Files series is one of the most successful in television history. Its heroes - FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully - investigate the secrets of human contacts with aliens. The series was launched on screens in 1993 and aired until 2002. Also, based on its motives, two feature films were shot.
