Recently, TripAdvisor, the largest travel site, conducted a curious survey that showed that 67% of Russian women plan to travel without company this year, saying that they do not need satellites at all.
Why and how women prefer to travel alone
Most of the girls who took part in the survey noted that they prefer to travel unaccompanied, because this is the only way they can see and study what is interesting to them personally. 39% of respondents admitted that they go on a trip without company so that “no one bothers them to do whatever they want on vacation”, and 34% said that they like “to be independent and rely on their own strength while traveling”. We agree that trying on the hundredth pair of shoes and studying the petroglyphs in the Font de Gaume cave is much calmer and more pleasant when no one is standing over his soul, demanding to return to the hotel as soon as possible.
By the way, despite the fact that girls are happy to sacrifice heart-to-heart nightly conversations for their own independence, we are very responsible about ensuring our own safety. Most of the survey participants noted that they try not to go out late in the evening (61%), not to walk in uncrowded streets (20%) and inform their loved ones about their plans (44%). They also pay close attention to the choice of a hotel (59%), preferring large hotel chains (58%) for such trips.
Where independent travelers prefer to stay
By the way, about hotels. When it comes to choosing a place of residence for an upcoming trip, the most popular method for Russian women is to look at reviews on the Internet (93%), followed by researching hotel sites (60%) and comparing prices on various travel sites (49%).
The determining factor in choosing a hotel, of course, is the favorable price-quality ratio (87%), followed by favorable user reviews (82%) and convenience (36%). An important factor is a beautiful view from the window (13%) and recommendations of friends and acquaintances (13%).
What travelers do on trips
The most popular activity among travelers is visiting cultural institutions and sights, getting to know the local cuisine. As many as 60% prefer to go to museums and restaurants. But an impressive, but still a minority, is ready to spend time on shopping - only 46% of women will leave all their savings in boutiques and malls.
