The most prestigious endurance sports car race in the world at Le Mans (Le Mans 24 Hours) took place in France last Saturday. Not only the French, but also celebrity fans of auto racing from all over the world are always interested in this race. And while Angelina Jolie strolled Manhattan on the weekend with her sons and sibling, Brad Pitt, known for his passion for auto and motorcycle racing, went to France for the weekend as a guest star to kick off the 24-hour race.

Saturday morning began with a heavy rain. But Brad Pitt behaved stoically and, although he was wet to the skin, did not run away from the event. By the time of the start, the weather cleared up. After the official part, where Pitt was entrusted with the role of the standard bearer, the actor changed into a fireproof racer's suit and made an honorary circle in the car, accompanied by the eminent Formula 1 athlete, 42-year-old Alex Wurtz. Wurz posted a photo with the actor on his Twitter and joked that he had finally found "The Stig", although only those who are keen on the TV show "TopGear" would understand the joke, because "The Stig" is a mysterious racer character from this show.

Brad Pitt was not the only celebrity to come to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He was accompanied by Jackie Chan, Fast and Furious and Carrier star Jason Statham, and actor and race car driver Patrick Dempsey, who once won the 24 Hours of Le Mans silver medal himself. After the start ceremony of the 24-hour race, the star four gladly moved to the VIP-zone for fans. But whether they were enough for all 24 hours of races is not reported.

For your information, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is the oldest endurance race in existence since 1923. And although it is officially a stage in the World Sports Car Championship, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans is the dream of any racing team. To understand the significance of these races, just watch the 2003 French film "Michel Vaillant: Need for Speed", which was written by Luc Besson. A beautiful film that will be interesting even to a female audience.
