This closing ceremony will be discussed for a very long time. Firstly, because Nikita Mikhalkov himself unexpectedly came to her, whom, despite the fact that the actor is the president of the festival, no one expected, and secondly, thanks to the ambiguous jokes of Nikita Sergeevich, which no one expected either. Probably, there was an attempt to bring down the pathos, which failed miserably, and instead came out … However, more on that below.

The main surprise for all those present was the appearance of everyone's favorite, the star of the 2000s, singer and actress Natalia Oreiro. She came to Moscow specifically to present the documentary film "Our Natasha" as part of the "Russian trace" program. Natalia uttered several phrases in Russian, which led the audience into indescribable delight, and then sang the well-known song from the TV series "Wild Angel", which, at one time, ensured the singer popularity in our country; later Mrs. Oreiro was replaced by our national singer Zara. And everything would be nice - songs (and why, in fact, not dancing?), A charming Uruguayan woman, cheerful Mikhalkov, if not for one "but" - the MIFF is so often put on a par with such giants as the Cannes or Venice Film Festivals that willy-nilly there is a feeling that we are trying very hard all the time, but we are not doing enough …

Golden George: "Daughter" (Iran)

The main prize of the film festival was awarded to the Iranian film by director Reza Mirkarimi "Daughter". I must say that in our time, Iranian cinema is confidently taking the leading position. A subtle, surprisingly calm and at the same time, exciting movie. The plot is based on the history of the relationship of a young Iranian woman with her father. Instead of attending the engagement of his younger sister, Setarekh plans to travel to Tehran to see off a friend who is leaving the country forever.

It would seem that the problem is not worth long conversations, much less global upheavals and discord in the family. However, such a turn does not suit the father, who is accustomed to unconditional obedience. In addition to purely Muslim reflections on the topic of women's rights in this world, the classic and irreconcilable confrontation between "fathers and children" appears on the surface. By the way, next year Mirkarimi will become the chairman of the jury - the organizers of the festival plan to introduce a new tradition: you won, so you can judge.

Silver George: "Full Selfie" (USA)

The film of the American Nicole Branding is about the present. We live in an age of cult of ourselves, we dream of fame and big money, hoping that this will only require a smartphone to take a successful photo of our face and access the Internet to publish the picture and collect two million likes. We no longer read books, we quit going to the movies - our whole life is plunged into the worldwide network. The popularity of the vulgar TV diva Kim Kardashian haunts Anna Banana, who, in her own opinion, is a failure. Still, there is not a million dollars on her bank account, and on social networks she is not one iota more popular than hundreds of exactly the same "girls from the crowd." Anna's whole life takes place exclusively in the virtual world - there she falls in love, never having seen her online boyfriend in her life,in the same place, the Internet is attacked by another equally "keen" girl.

By the way, Nicole Branding made her film in accordance with all the rules of the modern world - without leaving her home: the girl communicated with the actors on Skype, with the composer - on a social network. So the invitation to the Moscow International Film Festival was a complete surprise for her.

Best Actor: Farhat Aslani

The award for Best Actor went to Farhat Aslani, who played the father in Reza Mirkarimi's Daughter. Farhad is widely known in Iran. For his sake, director Mirkarimi, who usually does not shoot the same actors in his films more than twice, made an exception. Reza calls Farhat her favorite artist. By the way, Aslani himself was not at the presentation, so the director of the film received the prize for him, and Natalia Oreiro, who, as already became clear, was the highlight of the program, sang an incendiary song in honor of the winner.

Best Actress: Teresa Malvar

13-year-old Filipino Teresa Malvar was named Best Actress for her role in the film Shroud by Ralston Jover. The picture tells about the life of homeless children. Four teenagers, deprived of a happy childhood and loving parents, who for one reason or another found themselves homeless, trade in petty thefts. One of the friends gets run over by a car, the second after another theft disappears without a trace. The remaining two will have to confront the whole world to prove that they too, thrown to the sidelines of life, have a right to exist. For the young actress Teresa Malvar, this film is already the second. The girl is predicted to have a great future in her acting career, and the award at the Moscow Film Festival is the best confirmation of this.

Best Director's Work: "37" (Denmark)

Pook Grasten, awarded the Best Director Award, was arguably one of the most anticipated winners. Her picture of human indifference and fear of endangering their lives in order to save their neighbor, did not leave anyone indifferent. Thirty-seven people watched as a young girl was raped and killed in the street of one of the Danish cities, and none of the thirty-seven came to her aid. By the way, unlike many other participants in the festival, Puk came to the awards ceremony with the whole family. Usually at the awarding ceremony there are, at best, representatives of the embassies of those countries where the film came from.

Jury Special Prize Silver George: "Singing Shoes" (Bulgaria)

The jury's special prize "Silver George" was awarded to the "Singing Shoes" by the Bulgarian director Radoslav Spasov. This is the story of two people who once loved each other - a singer and a composer. After many years of marriage, Leah's husband, Eduard, learns that his wife has worked for the special services all her life. So love, family life - it was just a game? Throughout the whole picture, the unfortunate composer will sort out his feelings, bring back pleasant memories and, of course, regret the lost youth. It is not the first time that Spasov has participated in the Moscow International Film Festival, but it was with the film "Singing Shoes" that he received the jury's recognition.

Prize "I Believe!": Marina Neyolova

The main event of the evening was unexpectedly the presentation of the "Believe!" "For conquering the heights of acting and loyalty to the principles of the school of K. S. Stanislavsky." The coveted prize was received by the actress Marina Neyolova. I must say that the star of Soviet cinema was not so much flattered as surprised by this development of events. Nikita Mikhalkov personally presented the Neyolova Prize, and everything would have ended well, but the master of Russian cinema decided to spice up the already awkward moment with a solemn speech.

As the newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets writes, Mikhalkov, holding Neyolova by the hand anxiously, said: “There are wonderful actors and actresses. Not always smart, but talent makes up for it. When an actor is smart, subtle, fearless and not afraid to be funny, because he is valuable in himself, then he is not afraid to be anything. Actress, damn it, Marina Neyolova. Great Russian actress ".

The “great Russian actress”, however, was not taken aback and hastened to parry: “When you say such words, I imagine that I am Ermolova or Yablochkina. Such words are uttered when someone has passed away. And I'm still here. It is believed that the Nobel Prize is death. After receiving it, no one does anything. All you need to know about awards and prizes is that Mozart did not have them. This award is a big surprise for me. But surprises are also pleasant. They gave me something for the length of service."
