The reason for our overeating often lies not in dependence on starchy and fatty foods, as nutritionists think, and not even in stress, choosing the wrong ingredients, or a heightened sense of hunger. Here's how to stop overeating.
Think while eating
To learn to eat less, you need to learn to be mindful of what and how you eat. Chew food carefully, carefully choose the food you are going to cook and during the meal, lay out the contents of the plate on the ingredients, trying to understand how they all combine with each other and what could replace the "harmful" foods.
Some nutritionists even advise eating with chopsticks or with an inactive hand (right-handers with the left, left-handers with their right).
All this is done primarily in order to develop a food culture, which subsequently will help to easily reduce portions, since you will understand which of the foods you really need, and which you can refuse.
Hug and kiss

According to the latest research (and no, not British, but Swiss scientists) hugs and kisses are very pleasant and beneficial for our body and general well-being. It's all about the hormone oxytocin produced during these tenderness, which is also responsible for our metabolism and appetite. By normalizing the first and reducing the second, oxytocin turns hugging into a very beneficial process for the figure.
Eat in company

Recent studies in the field of psychology and human behavior indicate that women tend to eat less food if they eat in the company of young people or attractive men. In the first case, the “herd instinct” is triggered: we do not want to get out of the group of similar ones, so we adapt to our habits. In the second case, we just want to look the best in the eyes of a man, which usually, in our female opinion, is best suited for a salad and a glass of water, but long pasta, pizza or burgers, perhaps, not.
Use aromatherapy

The aroma lamp simply has to stand on the table at which you are working. Pour anise, rose or lavender oil into it periodically. These smells calm the nervous system, which means they prevent emotional overeating, which is typical for us, especially at work. The smells of vanilla and mint also help well - they muffle feelings of hunger.
Move

Everything, as always, depends on physical activity. Unfortunately or fortunately, but without sports in our life nowhere. It has been proven that people who are constantly on the move eat several times less than those who are constantly sitting. And the point is not at all that the former simply do not have time to have lunch, it is just that aerobic exercise increases the level of sugar in the blood, which is why the feeling of hunger decreases.
Eat protein foods

It is a well-known fact that protein is able to protect you from overeating, and all due to the fact that it helps to maintain a feeling of fullness for a long time. It is especially important to have protein food for breakfast, when our body especially needs strength and energy.
Dress warmly

Our body spends a huge amount of energy on heating the body, which is why in winter we want to eat all the time and, as a rule, during these cold months we recover by a kilogram or two. Warm clothing and a comfortable indoor temperature will save calories on heating the body and eliminate the need to replenish energy reserves.
