AnantarBazaruto Island Resort & Sp is located in Mozambique (this is on the African continent, directly opposite the island of Madagascar), where the daytime temperature does not drop below 27 degrees all year round, so you need to drink as much water as possible for a normal metabolism. The hotel's spa director, Natasha Kennedy, understands the situation and tells what else you can drink with benefit and pleasure if drinking only water suddenly becomes boring and uninteresting.
The benefits of water are endless, because all life processes in our body are associated with water. Water dissolves nutrients, promotes the elimination of toxins, regulates metabolism, provides energy and creates "weather" in which all biochemical processes start in the cells. But at the same time, despite the importance of what is happening, drinking water sometimes becomes simply unbearable. However, if you add something tasty and useful there, pour it into a sports flask for added convenience (Natasha uses Roots bottles for herself - convenient if you are at work or on the road; in the spa, water is poured into pot-bellied glass jugs, this method is suitable for a home or a summer residence), then it becomes much more fun to quench your thirst.
Citrus water

Even if we omit the infinite number of properties of vitamin C, then citrus and without it also contain useful B vitamins, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium and fiber. Regular drinking of lemon water reduces acidity in the body, which is often the cause of painful conditions. It also helps flush uric acid from the joints, which leads to inflammation and arthritis. Lemon contains pectin fibers that help satisfy hunger. Lemon juice's antioxidants reduce age spots and wrinkles, vitamin C stimulates the immune system and helps fight stress, high potassium levels provide care for heart, brain and nervous system health. I usually add mugs of lemon, orange or lime to the spa,but from personal experience, I would advise you to also pay attention to grapefruit, clementine and kumquat - the water with them is just as healthy, but also refreshingly spicy.
Water with fresh forest berries

Thanks to its well-deserved place on the list of modern "superfoods", berry sales have skyrocketed, and plastic containers with fresh forest products can be found even in the most basic grocery stores. Due to their natural sweetness and ample taste versatility, pre-crushed berries have become ideal candidates for healthy and thirst-quenching drinks. By including berry water in the diet, fiber from fruits (especially raspberries) can contribute to weight loss. In infusions, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries get along well together. For added piquancy, you can also add mint and basil leaves to the berry puree.
Herbal decoctions

Herbal preparations can rightfully boast of an arbitrarily wide range of positive health benefits, and we have not yet talked about the effect on the skin: sage has an anti-inflammatory effect, thyme and oregano are literally packed with powerful antioxidants, mint revitalizes the skin, and lemongrass reduces the secretion of sebum … Chilled teas in the spa go well with nuts and dried fruit. I also managed to find the perfect combinations of herbs and fruits that complement each other with their taste characteristics and perfectly quench thirst: parsley sprigs drenched in boiling water + banana slices; decoction of thyme + slices of ripe pear; infusion of mint + pitted cherries + watermelon cubes.
Cold tea

Green tea has long been renowned for its ability to enhance athletic performance and promote weight loss. Although most often perceived as a hot drink, it is when served chilled that its aromatic and spicy notes are especially revealed. Hot tea with thyme soothes cough, and when cooled, stimulates the excretory functions of the kidneys. By increasing the flushing out of toxins, this primarily affects the quality of the skin. Little tricks will help to revive the taste of chilled tea: add a little lime peel and pulp to green tea and raspberry puree to black - this will noticeably refresh and ennoble the taste of both drinks.
Superwater

The phrase super food has been so popular in recent years that it does not even require a literal translation. Having proven their commitment to healthy living and beauty raw, these superfoods have become a logical source for superwater as well. Packed with incredibly useful antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, the most popular drinks are pomegranate, watermelon and beetroot. Water (or something like juice) based on them is sold in health food stores. More recently, refreshing drinks based on the well-known goji berries have also appeared. Packed with vitamins C and A, iron and fiber, these berries are perfect for a thirst-quenching drink this summer. At the spa, we add fresh pomegranates and blueberries to spice up the rather bland flavor of the berries.
