
On cold winter days, nothing warms you up as quickly as a cup of hot aromatic tea ─ especially if it's tea with spices. We offer six original recipes for hot drinks that will help you instantly "thaw", get a boost of energy and relieve unpleasant symptoms of colds (and possibly extra pounds).
Pepper tea
In Ayurveda, pepper tea is recommended as a remedy for colds and sore throats! It is also considered an effective way to lose weight, but those who suffer from gastritis and chronic gastrointestinal diseases are not recommended to drink more than one cup of tea with a lot of spices per day.

Ingredients
- Freshly ground black pepper ─ 1 teaspoon
- Water ─ 2 glasses
- Honey ─ 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice ─ 1 teaspoon
- Finely chopped fresh ginger ─ 1 teaspoon
Preparation
Pour water into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Add pepper (ginger if desired) and let it brew for 3-5 minutes. Pour into cups, add honey and lemon juice to taste. Drink hot.
Siberian tea with cones
Recipe from Dmitry Yanchenko, chief bartender of the Pechorin chain of bakeries
The warming Siberian tea with cones fights well against viruses and colds, increases the tone of the body and gives a magical forest aroma.

Ingredients
- Pine cone jam - 50 grams
- Black tea in bags - 2 sachets
- Fresh thyme - 2 grams
- Honey - 10 grams (optional)
Preparation
Put jam, thyme and tea bags in a 500-600 ml kettle, pour boiling water over it. Let it brew for 4 minutes. Take out the tea bags. Add honey to taste.
Clove tea
Clove tea is good for treating cough and lung diseases, and stimulates digestion. Reminds: among other things, cloves are considered a mild aphrodisiac.

Ingredients
- Cloves ─ 3-4 pieces
- Ground ginger (powder) ─ 1/4 teaspoon
- Water ─ 2 glasses
- Cinnamon ─ 4 medium sticks
- Honey to taste
Preparation
Rinse the teapot with hot water. Put cloves, ginger, cinnamon in a warm kettle and pour boiling water over it. Let it brew for 5 minutes. Add honey to taste.
Tea with cardamom and ginger
Tea with cardamom helps with colds, swelling, and cardamom is also considered a good antiseptic.

Ingredients
- Cardamom ─ 2-3 pods
- Peeled fresh ginger ─ 1 medium root
- Water ─ 2 glasses
- Black tea ─ 1 sachet
- Honey, sugar, milk to taste
Preparation
Chop the ginger root, put in a small saucepan, cover with water, add the cardamom seeds. Bring to a boil and simmer for five minutes. Remove from heat, add tea, let it brew. Add sugar or honey, milk to taste.
Tea with spices "Ethiopia"

Ingredients
- Cardamom ─ 1 teaspoon of seeds
- Ground cinnamon ─ 1/2 teaspoon

Nutmeg ─ 1/8 teaspoon
- Ground cloves ─ 1/8 teaspoon
- Peeled fresh ginger ─ 1 small root
- Water ─ 4 glasses
- Honey, orange juice to taste
Preparation
Toss all the ground spices in a small bowl. Bring the water to a boil, add the spice mixture, ginger to the boiling water and simmer for 4 minutes. Remove from heat, let cool slightly and drain. Pour into cups, add honey and orange juice to taste.
Spicy tea "Russian"

Ingredients
- Black Ceylon Large Leaf Tea ─ 8 teaspoons
- Cloves, whole ─ 2 teaspoons
- Zest of 1 medium orange or 2 tangerines
- Cinnamon ─ 4 medium sticks
- Water ─ 2-2.5 liters
- Honey ─ 1/2 cup
- Lemon juice ─ 1/4 cup
Preparation
Put tea leaves, cloves, citrus zest and cinnamon sticks into a bag of gauze and tie tightly. Boil water, put a bag of spices in the water, remove from heat and let it brew for 10 minutes. Before you start drinking tea, add honey and lemon juice to the tea. Spiced tea can be stored in the refrigerator for two to three days in a tightly sealed glass container.
