Some talented actors turn out to be equally talented in politics. And Cynthia Nixon, the star of the series "Sex and the City", is ready to prove it once again. Nixon is set to compete with incumbent Governor Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic primaries this fall. Cynthia has already presented her campaign video, and some columnists are enthusiastically discussing what the New York administration would look like if they took over as Governor Miranda Hobbs.
Nixon, 51, announced on Twitter Monday that she would be nominated for governor, unveiled the first campaign video, and briefly explained what she intends to achieve as New York's chief executive.
According to Cynthia, she adores New York, considers it her home, but "it's time for a change." The main points in the Nixon program: combating gender inequality, reforming education and health systems, repairing the subway, fighting illegal arrests.
While the Democratic Party is recovering from Nixon's announcement, secular observers point out that Sex and the City's Miranda Hobbs' alter ego, Cynthia's Miranda Hobbs, is, in fact, the most suitable of the four for politics. Miranda is hardworking, soberly thinking and sometimes even cynical (which is certainly a plus for a politician). What if it was Miranda who decided to run for governor of New York? What would be the main points of her program and how would they differ from the points of Nixon's program?

Equal pay
Harvard graduate and lawyer, Miranda Hobbs will certainly be a supporter of equal pay for men and women. Nixon herself has previously campaigned for equal pay with Nancy Pelosi and Lily Ledbetter.
Reproductive rights and support for health research
In the fourth season of the series, Miranda quite actively discussed abortion and reproductive rights, finding herself in an interesting position. When running for the post of governor, the lady would probably pay enough attention to this issue, namely, the support of the individual right to choose.

Mutual support of neighbors
A governor who implements a system of mutual support / verification of neighbors can gain a lot of supporters. Those who prefer to live alone are likely to have experienced a frightening moment at least once (suffocation, a piece of food sticking across the throat). Miranda is exactly like this.
Support for single mothers
As a working single mom, Miranda is unlikely to forget her support for out-of-school and daycare programs. Surely she would support single mothers regardless of their employment status. Nixon campaigns for funding public education and sick pay.

Reconstruction of the city metro
"Making our emergency metro work" is one of the most important items on Nixon's program. The actress even calls the radical restructuring of the metro a priority for the administration. Miranda, who was one of the first heroines of the series to move to Brooklyn, would certainly have done her best to improve urban transport.
In conclusion, it is worth noting that if Cynthia Nixon is elected, she will become the first female governor of New York State. And the first woman with a non-traditional sexual orientation.
