Serdar Yanikov: How and when did you get the idea to open a gallery?
Alina Pinskaya: Once, in the process of a hopeless search for a vintage floor lamp in Moscow, I thought: "Well, as long as possible, it's time to open your gallery." But seriously, I wanted to for a long time - I discovered it when the time and opportunities coincided. Interest in design, in my case, was superimposed on art history education - the Surikov Institute. When I was a postgraduate student in Paris, I found myself in a crowd of gallery owners and vintage furniture dealers. They were always dragging themselves from some ragged chairs. This intrigued me very much.
What is the reason for this gallery format - you have art, collectible design, object design?
This is what I love. This combination is a great synergy, I think. Most of my things are modernist. The middle of the twentieth century - the flowering of design and abstraction. Objects complement each other perfectly, they are synchronous in time. I hate the phrase "ready-made solution", but the result is ready-made interior solutions.
Your work haunts you, do you dream?
Let the work pursue better. And dreams too.
Does it interfere with your personal life?
Strongly complements.
What's your biggest achievement so far?
The right balance of age and achievement.

“The re-editions do not have that handicraft that is so valuable today. There is no feeling of happiness. They do not touch me."
What about pricing? I heard that your gallery is expensive. Explain your business model. How do you make money?
I am essentially selling my taste. I'm sure of him. How much does my selection work cost? In terms of prices, they are often lower than on professional design portals such as 1stdibs. Our people are always waiting for deception. They prefer to spend time and energy to bring something on their own, saving 400 euros. And as a result, it is often not enough to track quality, provenance, packaging, if you like. Why not leave it all to a professional? Why not just calmly "try on" the iconic item you like in your interior?

And what about no name items?
There are also such, not so many, however. But my plan is to abandon them altogether in the future. I must say that even the "immaculate" Milanese gallery Nilufar has no names.
Yes, Nina Yashar is a recognized leader among gallery owners
I cite this example, since they have existed since the 70s and everyone knows about them. Yashar has huge warehouses. She often buys up whole objects. And believe me, there are a lot of things that are pretty ordinary. But this is her selection, very professional, and this is why he is valuable.

Why vintage and not new reissues?
The reprints do not have that handicraft that is so valuable today. There is no feeling of happiness. They don't touch me. Zero emotion.
What can you call your professional doping?
Having smart people in the closest possible environment.
How and where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In our country, it is not customary to plan so far.
Is plastic surgery a necessity for a woman?
The hope of my generation is antigerontological pills.
Alina, which of your recent actions can you call adventurous, risky, romantic?
If all of the above together, then the birth of a second child.
And it's all about her
