Some people think that the business dress code is too monotonous due to the lack of a wide choice of styles. Others are sure that a variety of options still exist, however, it looks, as a rule, rather boring, and except for office life, it will not be useful anywhere. One way or another, there are a number of important wardrobe positions that you will definitely not be able to do without for building a career. We have collected seven such key positions - from clothes to shoes and accessories - that every business woman who is aimed at quickly moving up the career ladder definitely has.
Costume
Despite the fact that a classic suit has long been a part of not only a business dress code, but also our everyday wardrobe, we are not tired of all kinds of suit variations, and it is extremely difficult to do without such a classic pair. It will be a trouser or skirt, with a double-breasted or single-breasted jacket - it does not matter, rely on your own taste and preferences. The main thing when choosing a perfect fit and a good cut (see also: "How to choose a pantsuit that will not disappoint you").
Choosing a deuce, pay attention to the classic models of calm colors: it is better to conquer the business world without shocking. Multicolored suits with incredible prints are best left for summer parties. However, pearl-colored cropped trousers can be presented in an original way, complementing them with sneakers, a bright top and a bomber jacket in bold colors.
Office dress
He doesn't have to be dull and stern, but he must certainly suit you. Wear it on those days when you don't know what to wear, when the mood is such that you want to stay at home, when you danced in the bar all night, and in the morning you have to work. Simply put, your versatile office dress should be light shades (this noticeably refreshes and hides the tired look), loose enough (to be comfortable), stylish and, of course, moderately strict (to fit into the dress code).
Boring blouse
A classic blue or white shirt doesn't have to be dull office. The colors themselves and the right fabric already make it strict and correct. By adding creativity to the styling of outfits along with this shirt, you will not deviate from the dress code, but will bring variety or even “peppercorns” to your daily look.
It is better to have several classic shirts and blouses in the wardrobe at once, but let each of them have its own flavor: an oversized model, a semi-fitted cut, with flounces and asymmetry, patch pockets or discreet embroidery - so you will not have the impression that the wardrobe full, but nothing to wear.
Black pumps
The most important thing here is a comfortable and anatomically correct last, which will be comfortable for you personally. Finding such a perfect pair can only be done by trial and error, trying on a dozen models of different brands. But such scrupulousness and selectivity are worth it. For example, the Duchess of Sussex found such an ideal one for herself, and therefore, even at long periods of pregnancy, she calmly withstands several events in a row on 10-centimeter stiletto heels (see also: "Why Duchess Megan does not refuse stilettos during pregnancy").
Set of linen
Your wardrobe must contain at least a pair of matching "tops" and "bottoms". And they need to be worn in sets, this is their hidden strength. Psychologists say aloud that underwear plays an important role in a woman's self-awareness and adds confidence to her. Although this may seem like a trifle and an insignificant thing, it is clearly worth checking whether the magic of matching underwear works.
A bag
To the bag of a successful business woman, all the same requirements are familiar to us: clarity of forms, spaciousness, uniformity and restraint. Like shoes, a bag should be made of high quality materials and look status (which, of course, does not imply a fabulous price), so give up bright colors, soft shapes and crazy decorations. The simpler the better - when choosing a universal bag model, this rule works one hundred percent. If you love adding accents to your outfits, experiment with small silk scarves that can be tied to a handle or removable straps for bags.
Classic coat or trench coat
To make the classic coat really the base of an office capsule for a long time, you should forget about synthetics. Let it be made of wool with the addition of cashmere or angora. Quality items last a long time, justifying their price, and look much better than their cheaper counterparts.
