There is a version that the first hair mist appeared back in the 70s of the last century thanks to the efforts of the specialists of the Estée Lauder company. True, then the novelty "did not enter" the market, and the experiment was safely forgotten for several decades. The mist went through the second birth 5-7 years ago, and it was so successful that now almost every fifth (if not third) bottle of hair products is marked as mist.
What is a mist? Today, this is the name for almost all hair products, with the exception of styling products, which are available in a spray format. This is not entirely true, even though the manufacturers themselves often write mist on the bottle (translated from the English. "Haze") - "mist for shining hair", "mist for moisturizing", "refreshing mist". After all, the main difference between myst and care products is aromatization.

Mist (less commonly called "haze") is a perfumed spray that envelops the hair in a light veil of scent. It is undesirable to use ordinary perfume for this purpose: the alcoholic ingredient of its composition, to put it mildly, is not good for hair. Hair mist also contains alcohol, but in a much lower dosage, so the "haze" ─ ideally, of course ─ practically does not dry the hair and does not damage its structure. However, the aromatic component of the mist is enough to make the hair smell pleasant and “tasty” for a long time, and its lightness excludes conflict with the main perfume.
Mist is, by and large, a scent "for yourself" (or for the closest person who is allowed to nuzzle into your crown).
Why, then, do the mystas stay on the hair for a long time? The secret lies in the porous structure of the hairline, which, like a sponge, absorbs all odors, including not the most pleasant outsiders (for example, tobacco smoke or specific fried foods). By the way, one of the useful qualities of the mist lies in the fact that the spray, enveloping the surface of the hair with a thinnest invisible film, prevents the penetration of "dissonant" aromatic notes inside. But if you, as a true perfectionist, continue to worry that the hair mist will overpower the smell of your favorite perfume, remember the “one line” option: today many brands release hair mist to support the main fragrances.

Today, in addition to aromatization, the mist performs several very useful functions: it refreshes the hair by absorbing excess fat (however, you should not expect the effect of a dry shampoo from it), gives shine, moisturizes, gives light volume, removes static electricity and generally disciplines hair, making it easier to comb and style.
7 perfect multifunctional mist

A caring product with a floral-fruity scent is a must have for blondes. Plumps and disciplines hair, helps with combing, adds shine, gives a summer scent. Can be used as a base for other stronger styling. Use by brunettes is not prohibited!

(left) Spray for shine and hair restoration Shimmer Shine, Kevin. Murphy. A nourishing mist with an exquisite creamy aroma of "authorship" of an Australian hairdresser, well-known in professional circles, takes care of the hair (it contains vitamins A, C and E, baobab and bamboo extracts), without weighing them down, and gives a light shine (small gold particles shimmer in bottle, just shake it). Good as a base for casual styling.
(right) Tonic against hair loss Hair Tonic For Her, O'right. Quite an unusual product, because it is intended primarily for scalp care (it will help to cope with the problem of thinning hair, dandruff, itching and dehydration). Amazing freshness "included": Mist is 92% natural ingredients, including extracts of chamomile, white arnica and mountain arnica.

(left) Côte d'Azur Refreshing Hair Mist, Oribe. Multifunctional product: removes static electricity, protects hair from UV radiation and burnout, refreshes hair. The author's floral-fruity composition from the brand's perfumers promises to "accompany" the styling throughout the day (and even the night).
(right) Protective Perfumed Hair Spray, Sachajuan. Another "universal" soldier: refreshes, moisturizes, protects from the sun and, of course, perfumes the hair. In the piercingly transparent trail of mist, everyone will feel something of their own: the coolness of the early morning, the refreshing ocean breeze or the aftertaste of your favorite aperitif.

A strong final touch at the final stage of styling: tames unruly hair, moisturizes dry hair, revives tired hair. Envelops hair with a “delicious” dessert aroma, gives shine and shine, refreshes the color and protects it from fading and washing out. The fact that the mist is based on dry oil should not be scary: it does not weigh down the hair and does not leave greasy marks.

(left) Mist-hydrofinish "In 5 seconds", System Professional. Haze for daily use facilitates hair care (including helping to quickly and safely comb fine matted hair). The effect of smooth, soft, manageable and healthy (due to maximum moisture) hair is provided almost immediately after spraying ─ both on dry and wet hair.
(right) Antistatic hair spray "Sunny Day", LUSH. A myst with a rich violet scent will "tame" coarse, lush and curly hair, which tend to be capricious in bad weather. The composition is enriched with honey and lemon juice that removes static electricity well, while maintaining both shine and smoothness.
