Must have and noblesse oblige are complete definitions of blush. They are a necessary makeup element that, after turning the face into a clean sheet with the help of a concealer and tone, revitalize it. Blush gracefully mask pallor, refresh and - this is especially valuable - when used correctly, visually rejuvenate for a couple of years. We are looking for the best options, focusing on our own needs and capabilities.

For those who don't have time

All famous brands have added blush in sticks to their collections. The explanation is simple: sticks are a great option for residents of megacities, who, due to constant time pressure, often correct their makeup on the run (or even do it in traffic). The practical shape in the form of a pencil is mobile and comfortable to use: blush-sticks do not require additional improvised means for application (some manufacturers make our life even easier by equipping products with mini-sponges for better shading).

The minimum you need is a mirror, an antiseptic hand gel (you will have to shade it with your fingers) and wet wipes (to erase any traces of makeup from your hands). Do not forget about the base: sticks are of a creamy type of blush, and they ask for a "base" at least in the form of a light BB or CC cream. But they are multifunctional and can be used, including as a colored lip coating.

For those who are in trend

Cushonomania, which does not think to slow down, has not bypassed the blush. Blush-cushons are produced in a case similar to the “powdery” one, or in a tube equipped with a dispensing pad. Advantages of this type of blush: delicate, almost weightless coating, the possibility of a reasonable "dosage" of color (you definitely won't be able to overdo it), hygiene (a soft sponge excludes application with your fingers).

Mobile packaging allows you not only to be fashionable (cushions a la powder "look especially impressive), adjusting your makeup throughout the day. The blush is easy and quick to apply, the color is natural with a noticeable moisturizing finish. Feel free to choose a cushion if you value naturalness in your makeup (there will definitely be no problems with unaesthetic stripes, excess pigment and glitter), but keep in mind that the durability of such blush is average - about 5-6 hours.

For those who want everything at once

Dry blush is a familiar and familiar option, pleasing with its tradition and, in a good sense, predictability. They are of several types: compact, crumbly, baked (they differ from compact ones in cooking technology and, as a rule, have a more delicate texture and soft shades), in the form of balls. The latter are often called "meteorites" (by analogy with the Guerlain product - the iconic Meteorites powder in balls). Their main advantage lies in economy (the funds are really enough for a long time) and color - due to the large number of shades of small spheres, it turns out to be more "lively" than mono versions. Compact and baked ones have slightly more advantages compared to crumbly and "ball" ones due to the case, which is equipped with a mirror for convenience (and often also a mini-brush).

The choice of shade of blush depends on the color of the skin (the darker it is, the brighter the blush should be) and the time of day (natural pink and peach colors are suitable for the daytime, lilac for the evening, and “strict” red for the worker).

It is believed that dry blush is optimal for oily or combination skin types, because they matt well and cope with oily sheen (talcum powder is a good sorbent). This is true, but still such blush is quite universal and is not forbidden even for owners of dry skin. The main thing to remember is that they are applied at the finish of the makeup - on the foundation and on top of the powder, if you use it (the final layer of translucent powder for adjusting the tone is acceptable). With a strong release of greasy secretions, the powder followed by a layer of blush can roll off over time, therefore, knowing about this skin feature, use a primer prudently.

Dry blush is applied with large round and / or large beveled brushes. After you have passed the brush over the blush block or balls, shake it off from excess product, and only then transfer the color to the apples of the cheeks or cheekbones. Careful shading is required - there should be no clear lines.

For those who are ready to conjure in front of the mirror

Liquid, gel and cream blush with pronounced pigmentation and long-lasting effect, ideal for long-lasting makeup or evening make-up. These blushes contain waxes and silicones, moisturizing ingredients, mineral ingredients, vitamins, so they are especially good for dry and irritated skin.

Any blush, in principle, is undesirable to apply on "bare" skin, but for liquid and creamy, the same liquid base - primer, foundation, BB cream - is simply mandatory. Apply and blend blush with your fingers (less desirable) or a damp sponge (ideal). Using them requires skill - while the dry version is easily corrected by shading, for the liquid one it is fraught with turning into a dirty stain - therefore, it will definitely not work to get off with a second wave of the brush.
