In 2003, the house of Chanel released a concealer for dark circles under the eyes (who among us do not remember the legendary Eye Tonic) with a ceramic roller, which evoked clear associations with "old-school" lip gloss, and in 2007 Creme de lMer presented a care for the area around eye with a separate applicator - in the form of a stick with a spherical metal tip. Both of them were designed to more effectively combat puffiness and dark circles under the eyes through gentle mechanical massage and a cooling effect, but they became bestsellers largely due to packaging. Today it will not make a loud action - we are used to commercials. But the question of choosing the best and most effective means remains on the agenda.

Many are convinced that the metal ball is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. There are no studies that prove that it is and only roller-based products that help prevent puffiness and erase wrinkles in the long term. Here and now - yes, it is possible. A pre-chilled teaspoon can have a similar effect, which you put under the eyes and with which you massage the usual cream "under the eyes". True, it will not be so convenient.

But in fact, the applicator is an important condition for the product to work. Rollers made of surgical metal (in other words, stainless steel) are cool by themselves, but to enhance the refreshing effect, you can keep the product in the refrigerator. The cold will stimulate the outflow of excess fluid from the tissues and cope with the bags under the eyes. Of course, chilled and squeezed tea bags or cucumber slices also relieve puffiness, but such super natural options are not always available to us, unlike a roller, which is convenient to keep in a cosmetic bag and use as needed during the day (some options include applying over makeup) … This is very important for those who spend a lot of time in the office space and at the computer - the applicator allows you to take care of your eyes as needed, without getting your hands dirty.

There is an opinion that rollers stretch the skin, but it is not entirely correct. You can rub the skin until redness with your fingers, too zealous with the classic cream. And if you act with a roller or a metal stick carefully - with light pressure - the massage effect in combination with the cold will greatly enhance the effect of care: it will improve blood circulation and lymph flow, remove excess fluid, and strengthen the walls of blood vessels. Remember one thing - the order of action. Pass the massage nozzle from the outer corner of the eye to the inner one, starting from the upper eyelid and ending at the lower (first towards the temple, then towards the bridge of the nose). Such products have a light fresh texture and are quickly absorbed (and thanks to the roller they are also evenly applied), so you usually do not need to drive in the rest of the product with your fingers. Better to spend a few seconds disinfecting:the rollers are pleasantly hygienic, but after application it is still recommended to rinse the metal head with warm water and wipe it with a napkin.

Roller products contain the same basic ingredients as in traditional eye care: caffeine (narrows blood vessels, has a lymphatic drainage effect - relieves puffiness), peptides (stimulates collagen production - reduces wrinkles), antioxidants (prevents cell aging - prevention "Tired look"), brightening components and tint pigments (remove circles under the eyes and mask imperfections), in some cases - silicones and demethicones (even out the skin and make makeup more resistant). Therefore, they can be an indispensable part of daily care along with classic creams and gels for the periorbital area.

Often, the rollers are dressed in "men's" treatments for the area around the eyes, because they magically combine what the strong half of humanity values so much: ease of use and quick effect. This is also relevant for us, because hated edema does not always represent a global problem associated with chronic diseases or genetics, and sometimes it is only a consequence of lack of sleep or wine tasting the day before.

But the key to long-term results is regular grooming. In addition, despite all the visible advantages (and even purely practical advantages compared to traditional means), professional salon anti age therapy cannot be replaced by roller means, of course.
