We must admit that it was not easy to find the right options: the course of minimalism, naturalism and naturalness, taken in the summer, attacked not only the catwalks, but also the red carpet. To appear at the premiere with one (not five) layers of makeup or to combine the latest designer find with a more than modest set of highlighter and mascara for a top-ranked star has become more than real.

This is both good and bad for us. On the one hand, you can not be puzzled a couple of weeks before the New Year by finding a make-up artist who will paint "that makeup", but try to do it herself (Kate Middleton has been doing this quite successfully for a long time). The reason for grief is different: unlike the stars, which shine every other day and every day, we traditionally allow ourselves to go all the way only on holidays. Therefore, decorative and cosmetic detox in New Year's makeup is not a Russian story at all. Fortunately, many celebrities agree with this. We invite you to be inspired by the best options for bright outfits of the outgoing year (and take a note of some).
Hollywood classics
The "gold standard" (and not just Hollywood) is a dense, even tone, well-defined eyebrows, a haze of neutral shadows along the crease of the eyelids, black eyelashes and red lipstick. Please note that this season, makeup artists, and after them celebrities, have almost completely abandoned intense contouring. There are no more borders sculpturally carving out the oval of the face, but the blush, which is quite noticeable for such a number of accents in the make-up, remains, which is nice ─ it noticeably refreshes and rejuvenates the face (look at Reese Witherspoon). For those who are not accustomed to red lipstick, Chanel makeup artists give how to (read ─ "How to stop being afraid of red lipstick"), and we advise you to choose the classic version of Amber Heard, which is more restrained in shades, if the traditional bright ones are still a little too much.

Blue-green gamut
Turquoise on the red carpet, which triumphantly returned to the catwalks, transformed into an iridescent greenish navy blue. The shade goes well not only with brown (traditional version), but also with blue, and actually with green eyes. Bonus: having made a choice in its favor, you automatically free yourself from the painful search for the "right" shade of lipstick ─ it should be as neutral as possible.

Brown smoky
It seems to us that the explanation for the sharply increased popularity of brown smoky lies in the fact that soft chocolate shading is a perfectly balanced balance between solemnity and everydayness of the moment. Shades of brown ─ from cold dusty to warm cinnamon ─ accentuate any eye color. For showiness, shade the shadows along, leading almost to the temple (like Sarah Sampaio's makeup artist), for drama ─ add a little charcoal black to the outer corners (like Jennifer Lawrence), for a minimalistic "makeup without makeup" (like Dakota Johnson) apply shadows a light shade only on the area of the eyelid and do not be zealous with the eyeliner.

Arrows (different)
The shooters won applause on the world's catwalks throughout 2017, and definitely (see Bella Hadid's Round Winged Liner) ─ this is the best option for the final year of the look. There are a lot of options: calm classic (like Mila Kunis), daring art-house (like Gigi Hadid), colored (like Elle Fanning), with an emphasis on the inner corner of the eye (like Bella Hadid) and even for those who draw they are not at all able to ─ as if sealed (like Arizona Muse).

Intensive eyeliner
The emphasis on the eyes is a special chic. All that is required is to generously highlight both the upper and lower boundaries of the eyelash growth with a pencil. Both lines should be about the same thickness (the effect of hasty sloppiness is very desirable), and the ponytail should go to the temple strictly in the middle of the place where they meet. Especially in this technique, I am impressed by the fact that it successfully harmonizes with both a daring boyish image and a magically romantic mood.

Black eyes
Only the lazy one did not say that excessive darkening of the mucous membrane of the lower eyelid is the easiest way to add at least a couple of extra years to your age. But only if we are not talking about an evening out, when black kayal is your friend and helper. We especially loved how Victoria's Secret Angel Martha Hunt created a full festive make-up with his (as well as tones and mascara).

Bright lipstick
We focus on the lips with the right lipstick (read "The most fashionable lipstick shades of the fall-winter 2017/18 season"). Classically red shades, wine and violet-pink are relevant. The rule "either lips or eyes" is hopelessly outdated, so you can mix your favorite lipstick with both smoky eyes and rich eyeliner. We fell in love with Anya Rubik's lips - she added a wine shade of lipstick with just an eyebrow pencil and a layer of mascara.

It couldn't be easier: choose your favorite color and do makeup in the same range. New Year is the time of fulfillment of desires, so you should not deny your soul anything (even if it asks for a frankly "summer" make-up).

Shining
One of the options for not-so-festive sparkle is the judicious use of glitter. Dose its role in makeup: let one thing shine and shimmer. We advise you to rely on your eyes: an overabundance of highlighter on skin that is not pampered in the middle of the autumn-winter season with a tan can look both poor and pale.

Delicate blush
We already talked about the magic "anti-aging" power of blush at the very beginning. And if a festive look in your perception is not at all identical with bright makeup, we are ready to support you with a couple of interesting examples. Pay a little more than usual attention to the apples of your cheeks (the choice of a delicate peach shade or fresh salmon depends on the color type), work on the eyelash edge with a pencil, paint your eyelashes with mascara and add lipstick to the tone ─ the case when it is not a holiday that paints a person, but a person decorates a holiday …
