The peeling procedure starts (or intensifies, whatever you like) the process of cell renewal. This means that the dead cells are actively exfoliated, "leaving" the skin. The stratum corneum has a very important role - it performs a protective function, therefore, in response to the reduction of the stratum corneum, the skin responds with the active production of "new" cells that rise to the surface, thus renewal is carried out, and we see a qualitatively new skin. In addition, active processes occur not only in the epidermis, but also in the dermis (the number of collagen and elastin fibers increases). The skin is an intelligent organ, and many processes occur reflexively, in response to external influences.
The skin is also renewed and definitely needs special care. The first and prerequisite is the use of products with a sunscreen factor, regardless of what time of year the procedure is performed (and in winter, SPF products are required!). Neglecting this rule is guaranteed to lead to pigmentation.
What should be the care "immediately after"
You should receive these recommendations from a professional cosmetologist who performed the procedure: the choice of the type of peeling, preparation for the procedure and a set of remedies for recovery after are selected individually. The only thing that can be said for sure is that middle (and even more deep) peels do not involve the use of irritating agents, especially in the first 24 hours after the manipulation. In general, after the median peels, the return to the usual care occurs within 5-7 days.

How to reduce a typical skin reaction? (and is it possible)
Redness and peeling of the skin, itching, burning sensation, swelling ─ depending on the type of peeling (superficial, median, deep), the severity of such reactions varies, as well as the duration of the rehabilitation period. Now women, as a rule, do not have time for a long recovery period: a modern lady has long been unable to afford hiding at home for a week with a swollen red face, work and social life require presence. That is why dermatologists are inclined towards new types of peeling, the effect of which does not entail external negative reactions, but at the same time the skin is renewed so that the result is noticeable.
One such treatment is SkinCeuticals Pigment Balancing Peel, which professionals use in several combinations. For example, to reduce pigmentation, a full set is used: a clarifying powder based on glycolic acid, vitamin C (27%) and emblik (4%) is applied. Vitamin C regulates the synthesis of melanin and stimulates the production of collagen, strengthens the walls of blood vessels, increases immunity and skin turgor, and regenerates it. The emblica component is a powerful antioxidant that has a rejuvenating effect on the skin (helps to reduce wrinkles, regulates melanin synthesis, reduces age-related pigmentation, and prevents photoaging of the skin). Then comes an exfoliating solution containing glycolic (40%) and citric (10%) acids. This combination is responsible for gentle exfoliation of cells (helps to reduce hyperpigmentation and rejuvenation) and stimulates their renewal (increases skin elasticity, reduces the depth of wrinkles). For sensitive skin, a buffering cleansing solution is added to soften the peeling effect and a neutralizer to reduce redness. The latter options do not lead to peeling and do not cause any external reactions, for which they are very much loved by Americans and Europeans (they affectionately call such a peeling a "lunch break" procedure). Russian women often want to enhance the effect and see peeling - then after the procedure, retinol must be applied for some time (the course must be selected by a cosmetologist). Are complications possible?
Yes, and the most common complication that usually accompanies peeling is pigmentation (see above). With medium and deep peels, it is possible to attach a secondary infection (which actually depends not so much on the conditions of the procedure as on the wrong choice of funds during the rehabilitation period). Finally, do not forget about the allergic reaction to the peeling components ─ it is individual and almost unpredictable.
Special recovery tools
To enhance the effect and duration of the peeling results, you can use an antioxidant complex of funds. Firstly, these are serums and creams to prevent atmospheric aging and enhance skin immunity, and secondly, moisturizers.

The main "yes" and "no"
It's actually pretty simple. It is possible and necessary: to properly prepare the skin for peeling, using external agents that start the renewal process in order to even out the stratum corneum (then the exfoliation process will occur evenly). Do not use mechanical scrubs before peeling, and then neglect SPF protection.
