Collaboration of celebrities with “gastronomic” brands evokes a slight irony mixed with sincere interest. I just want to ask Jennifer Aniston, does she really drink the water that she actively promotes, and Lionel Messi eats chips as deliciously as he advertises them? When Lipton Ice Te introduced the new European ambassador - supermodel Karlie Kloss - Marie Claire's editors did not miss the chance to ask her a few questions (spoiler, they were not limited to food).

Marie Claire: What does your daily diet look like? Are there strict restrictions?
Karlie Kloss: I am a pescetarian (pescetarianism is a type of diet that excludes the consumption of warm-blooded meat, i.e. vegetarianism with elements of seafood - ed.), But I do not adhere to special diets (in 2012 Karlie Kloss was widely reproached for promoting anorexia - editor's note). I try to eat lean protein foods like salmon or egg whites, fruits and vegetables. I avoid refined sugar, but I don't get fanatic. I carry healthy snacks with me for snacks throughout the day, such as protein bars and nuts.

Harmful foods for which you have a weakness?
For cookies and dark chocolate. I am a big sweet tooth!
What is your mom's favorite dish?
Wow! Mom is a great cook, and it's hard for me to choose one thing. Her homemade vegetable pie and pumpkin muffin are some of her favorites. I have tried many times to cook according to her recipes, but nothing beats the dishes prepared by my mother's hands.

Models travel a lot. Do you eat on planes?
To be honest, I don't really like the food they offer, and I almost always take a snack with me. Usually these are instant oatmeal, vegan protein bars, dark chocolate, kale chips (kale variety - ed.). Well, everyone already knows that at high altitude, the body quickly dehydrates, so I drink a lot of water before and during flights.

Do you like tea too? What brought you to work with Lipton Ice Tea? By the way, congratulations on your new Ambassador title
That's right - I'm a big fan of both green tea and the classic Japanese matcha tea (especially early in the morning or in the middle of the day, when I need natural caffeine). What led to … Good offer, of course. But I'm really close to the main idea of the campaign: take time to focus on yourself, take care of your mind and body - a kind of slow beauty idea. Even during a business trip or a busy schedule of business meetings, I try to find a few minutes a day to relax and reboot. Now I'm doing it with a bottle of green tea - and it's great!

The position, of course, obliges, and yet one cannot but admire - your form is impeccable. Do you start every day with exercise?
Yes, even the weekend. I like to train in the morning ─ it gives me energy and concentration for the whole day. When I'm in New York, I combine strength-based HIIT with cardio. I also love boxing and try to include it in my fitness program as much as possible. I like variety, so I don't get fanatical about any specific areas. After training, be sure to stretch with a massage roller to prevent muscle pain - try it!

What if you're not in New York?
With a busy travel schedule, it is difficult to keep up with regular training, but I try. All physical activity is good. My favorite way to explore a new city is to go for a run. If I don't have time for that, I swim in the hotel pool or do yoga right in the hotel room (I love YogWith Adriene's YouTube channel!). In general, physical activity is the best cure for jetlag.
"Little things matter a lot: for example, between meetings I try to walk or cycle, rather than take the metro or taxi."
Let's talk about beauty. Uncover the secrets of your beauty routine - what does it include?
The basis of the foundations is skin care. The first thing I do every morning is wash my face with a mild cleanser and apply a moisturizer with a high UV protection factor. My mom never tired of reminding me of how important it is to protect myself from the sun, so I don't leave the house without a cream with at least SPF 15. My favorite skincare product is a face mask. Now my favorite is the Advanced Night Repair PowerFoil Mask by Estee Lauder. I apply it several times a week at night to moisturize and restore skin balance.

What's in your makeup bag? Do you even take makeup when you leave home?
When I have a day off, I prefer simplicity and minimalism to take a break from the heavy makeup I get on set. On weekdays, make-up artists have everything they need, so in everyday life I have enough foundation (now it's Estee Lauder's Double Wear), cream blush and volumizing mascara.
Marie Claire is a social brand and we can't help but ask the next question. What charitable activities have you taken or are currently taking part in? What does this mean to you?
I'm focusing on my organization Kode With Klossy (Instagram - @kodewithklossy), which is expanding access to computer science education for young women. We offer free two-week summer camps for girls where they can learn the basics of programming. This summer we will take it to the next level by training 1,000 girls in 25 cities across the United States.

The Kode With Klossy project has become the most significant in my life. It's an incredible feeling to see our graduates improve their programming skills and achieve success. They win hackathons, create programming clubs in their communities, go to universities in all states of the United States. These girls represent the next generation of women in information technology - an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me.

Then about computerization. Favorite social network, why exactly it, and what do you need it for?
Depends on what I'm posting or looking for, but Instagram and YouTube are closest to me. Instagram (@karliekloss) is an intuitive way to share your experiences and impressions. I travel a lot for work, and Instagram makes it easy to connect with family and friends. Here I also keep a history of my travels and emotions.

YouTube is a convenient platform for creative self-expression, allows you to communicate better with fans. My YouTube channel is Klossy. Here I share stories about my life, projects and hobbies. There you can also find behind-the-scenes coverage of the Oscars and Victoria's Secret shows, detailed recipes for my favorite pastries (Karlie Kloss created her own brand of cookies, Karlie's Kookies - ed.).
