Beauty solutions from the red carpet traditionally get a little less attention than evening dresses. Completely unfair! Day after day, we diligently tracked the fashion looks of the 75th Venice Film Festival, and it's time to put together a retrospective of the most interesting styling and makeup samples of all days.
1st day
The opening of the 75th Venice Film Festival amazed with a variety of bright images of the stars of the highest caliber. On the red carpet came the members of the jury (the magnificent Naomi Watts was in the company of the colorful Guillermo del Toro and the inimitable Christoph Waltz) and guests of the first premiere screening ─ Oscar-winning director Damien Chazelle's drama Man on the Moon. The secular chroniclers joked that the presence of Emma Stone would have made this Starship Trooper a full déjà vu performance of La La Landa two years ago (also at the Venice Film Festival, by the way). In general, the opening ceremony turned out to be Hollywood glossy and impeccably beautiful ─ judge for yourself.
2nd day
It was on the second day that films were shown at the Venice Film Forum, which eventually won the main awards ─ "Roma" directed by Alfonso Cuaron ("Golden Lion") and "Favorite" by Yorgos Lanthimos (Grand Prix of the jury). We admire the main star of the red carpet ─ Emma Stone.
3rd day
The heroine of the evening was Lady Gaga, who this time looked unusually elegant with a smooth bun on the back of her head and a restrained nude make-up. Lady Gaga appeared on the red carpet alongside Bradley Cooper, director (and lead actor) of A Star is Born. Irina Shayk, Donatella Versace, Cate Blanchett, Sara Sampaio, Barbara Palvin ─ there were more beauties than ever.
4th day
On the fourth day of the festival, Tilda Swinton, Dakota Johnson and Chloe Moretz, the protagonists of Luca Guadagnino's mystical thriller Suspiria, arrived in Venice. We admire the magnificent ability of the main persons of the evening to wear red lipstick.
5th day
The premiere of the evening ─ The Sisters Brothers picture by Frenchman Jacques Audiar ─ did not collect a lot of world celebrities, giving the public the opportunity to admire the unsurpassed Italians.
6th day
To match the premiere screening of the sixth evening of the film festival ─ the film by director Julian Schnabel “Van Gogh. On the threshold of eternity”- the guests, as if by agreement, chose original and with a twist of beauty images.
7th day
The red carpet of the Venice Film Festival was honored by the presence of Natalie Portman, who starred in Brady Corbett's musical drama The Voice of Light. It was difficult for other guests to compete with the Dior ambassador, so perfect was the beauty image of the actress in a floor-length dress with sequins from Gucci.
8th day
The traditional retro component of the film festival ─ in 2018 it was the film Last Year in Marienbad (1961, directed by Alain René) ─ defined the beauty style of the eighth day. Deliberately careless beams and waves agitated by the wind, matte textures and delicate application techniques: the actresses did not seem to want to distract the public's attention from the main thing - from the cinema.
9th day
The main premiere was a film by the Italian theater director "Revolution in Capri", and this determined the general style of the red carpet, sustained in national colors. Light natural make-ups, rich shades of lipstick, playful mood ─ the image of the ideal Italian woman corresponded to all the guests of the evening.
10th day
The premiere of the historical drama "The King and His Nation" by Frenchman Pierre Scholler took place at the Venice Film Festival. European actors predominated among the guests of the show, but the lack of celebrity did not affect the general atmosphere of the red carpet - it could be assessed as exquisitely chic. French beauty as it is!
11th day
The closing of the festival is always intriguing and double expectations, because the favorites of the film forum appear on the red carpet. The awards found their owners (in detail ─ “Results of the 75th Venice Film Festival and the Best Images of the Closing Ceremony”), and for the last time we ─ before the Toronto Film Festival, and perhaps even before the Oscars ─ looked at the wonderful artists.
