Why does the oval float with age, the lines lose their clearness, and the skin gathers into ugly wrinkles? The traditional point of view is to reduce the production of your own collagen and elastin. An alternative view of the problem says that aging is the result of chronic spasm of the muscles of the neck and face. Anastasia Dubinskaya, founder and head of the Revitonika school of natural rejuvenation, helps to figure out what is the matter.
If we constantly strain and do not relax the facial muscles, they come into a state of hyperspasm: the muscles are constantly contracted. At the same time, the anatomically mimic muscles are attached to the bones of the skull at one end, and to the skin or adjacent muscles at the other. What happens when a muscle is compressed? It pulls the skin or muscle to which it is attached.
Imagine a jacket in which the lining after dry cleaning has sat down: its material gathers in folds, puffs up with bubbles or sags.
The same thing happens with the skin. Wrinkles on the chin and around the mouth, on the forehead and the bridge of the nose, nasolabial folds are the result of a spasm of facial muscles.
Muscle spasm carries with it another danger - blood and lymph vessels are pinched in the compressed lumps of tension. As a result, the skin, on the one hand, does not receive the nutrition it needs (blood is the only natural material for recovery), on the other hand, the pathways for lymph drainage are blocked, and the toxic fluid under the skin forms a "swamp". Hence a face with dull, lifeless skin, with enlarged pores and a tendency to edema.
Anastasia Dubinskaya has developed the actual anti-age method "Revitonika" (it is based on exercises to relieve spasms and relax muscles) and is sure that the process of age-related changes can definitely be slowed down. We share the author's master class, where you can start.
Exercise for the back of the neck
Effect: relieving tension from the neck muscles, eliminating stoop and facial swelling
Stage 1. Bring your shoulder blades to the spine, folding your hands behind your back in the lock. Raise your shoulders as much as possible, slowly tilt your head back and place it on the tucked and raised shoulders. Freeze in this position for half a minute. To avoid tension in the thyroid region, you can open your mouth. Then slowly return to the starting position.
Step 2. Stretch your neck muscles with two different grips. For the first, place your right hand on the first cervical vertebra, and your left on the seventh. Move your arms to opposite sides. In this case, the position of the head should remain strictly vertical. For the second grip, fold your arms into the lock, grasping the back of your head tightly. Pull your neck gently straight up without tilting your head down.
Exercise for "high" cheekbones
Effect: formation of the correct position of the cheekbones and general tightening of the facial skin
Step 1. Place your cheekbones on the chairs with your palms and tilt your head down. Lock in this position for five seconds. Then start pushing your cheekbones in springy upward and sideways motion toward your temples, as if sculpting your face. When you reach the temporal region, stop in this position for a couple of seconds. Repeat the exercise 3-4 times.
Step 2. Place one hand behind your head, place your fingers on your temple, then pull them up and fix the position. Place the fingers of the other hand on the cheekbone and perform ten spiral massage movements from the outer corner of the eye to the ear.
Exercise for "opening" the eyes
Effect: helps to raise the height of the eyebrows, eliminates overhanging eyelids and wrinkles around the eyes
Place your left hand over your head and place your right hand parallel to your ear. Gently begin to stretch the fabric simultaneously vertically and horizontally towards the temple.
