Flawless makeup for 8-9 hours or more is not an easy task, especially if you usually prefer the "light" option, and primers with waterproof products rarely appear in your cosmetic bag. Lancôm's leading make-up artist Anna Shimkova shares life hacks with long-lasting makeup, in which the face will not look like plaster (relevant on the eve of big holidays and corporate parties).
Nuances you need to know
- Time. Long-lasting makeup takes longer than everyday makeup. Consider this before planning your holiday.
- Proven funds. Don't experiment with new foods ahead of a party. If you don't know how your new mascara will behave, it is better to put it aside and turn to a good old friend.
- Waterproof, water resistant, long lasting. If you have waterproof, water-repellent or long-lasting products that you usually use the most on your vacation at sea, feel free to get them.
- Accents. Bright shades, sparkles, simultaneously highlighted eyes and lips, clearly defined eyebrows - on a festive night, all this is permissible. Most likely, the party will be twilight or electric light ─ both require expressiveness from the person and in some cases even theatricality.

Training
It's no secret that before you start your makeup, you need to apply care. Light serums and creams are ideal: the skin will be hydrated and the foundation will fit perfectly. After applying the care, you need to blot the skin with a napkin to remove excess makeup.
Base makeup
To prolong the durability of foundations, to even out the structure and relief, to correct uneven skin, it is best to use a base. It should be applied in a thin layer, especially carefully working out the T-zone. If shine appears intensively in this area during the day, you will need a little more funds for the forehead, nose and chin.
Tone
For a perfect long-lasting make-up, use a long-lasting foundation. It is better to apply the foundation either with a beauty blender or with a tightly packed tone brush. You need to distribute the cream in a thin layer over the entire face, and then fix the result with loose powder. For oily skin, it is optimal to use tonal sticks: their structure is drier and more resistant. It is worth paying attention to the fact that even the densest tone can float in conditions of heat or high humidity. Therefore, in any case, it is worth having a matting powder with you in your cosmetic bag.
Blush
Combine cream blush (or sticks) with dry ones. Before applying dry blush, you need to carefully distribute the cream on the area of "apples" and cheekbones either with your fingertips or with a sponge. Here you need to remember that the subsequent application of dry blush will be more intense in color due to the mixing of textures.
Concealer
Apply this product dosed and exclusively locally: on the eyelids, the wings of the nose and any pinpoint imperfections that you would like to hide. The product must be gently hammered in with the pads of your fingers or sealed with a mini beauty blender. You need to use very little concealer: if you go too far with the amount, it can roll.
Eyebrows
Before you start making up your eyebrows, you need to comb them well (then there will be no leaving particles of care, foundation, etc.). In eyebrow makeup, it is best to use persistent wax, cream or hybrid textures. After drawing the eyebrows, you need to fix the hairs with gel. Colored or transparent - your choice and taste. It is better to go through the hairs twice.
Shadows
The first and most important stage is the base under the shade. Using a gentle patting motion, apply a small amount of the primer to the upper eyelid area. For super long-lasting eye makeup, apply first cream and then dry eyeshadow: a combination of textures will give your makeup a long-lasting, luxurious personality. There is one trick here: apply cream eyeshadows in one thin layer (if you overdo it, everything will gather in the crease of the eyelid or wrinkles), and loose - in several.
Mascara and eyeliner
The first step is to apply the liner. It must be either waterproof or moisture resistant. A good choice is marker pens, the pigments of which are usually very durable. Pencils are more likely to smudge, and gel or liquid liners can crack or print on the upper eyelid. Ink is the second step. It can be applied to the base under mascara or on its own, depending on the desired durability result. The sequence can be as follows: base, then a couple of layers of mascara, comb a little, removing the lumps, and once again apply a layer of the product. The main thing is not to overload the tips of the eyelashes: they are the ones that most often crumble.
Lips
Before you start applying the pencil and lipstick, you need to apply a little concealer to the lip contour with your fingertips and powder your lips. Then follow the contour and surface with a silicone pencil ─ it will be the perfect base. Finally, apply a long-lasting matte lipstick or lacquer gloss. Tints are another good option for long-lasting makeup (they last a long time and are easy to fix).
The final touch
An important step in completing the makeup is a transparent powder: apply a small amount to the forehead, nose and chin area. At the very end, fix the makeup with a fixative by spraying the spray on the face from a distance of 10-15 cm. By the way, the make-up fixer can be used after each stage of applying the products: in this way each subsequent layer of make-up will be securely fixed
