Heat always makes adjustments to our beauty routine. Less dense textures, layers of coating, more moisturizers and mild cleansers. These rules have to be played to avoid facing serious problems such as acne, rashes and irritation. And then the main question arises: how to make up on a summer day so that it looks spectacular, but does not harm the skin? Olga Romanova, founder of the first Russian indie brand of decorative cosmetics and false eyelashes, Romanovamakeup, shared useful beauty tips with us.
1. Practice monochrome

Monochrome fits perfectly into the general rule of makeup for the summer - go natural. The less makeup you have on your face, the more comfortable your skin will be to withstand heat and profuse sweating. Monochrome makeup does not require a lot of products and multi-stage application. “We take a creamy blush, pink or peach shade, apply it to the cheeks, eyelids and lips,” advises Olga. Such a make-up in one tool and several movements will create the effect of light freshness of the face and, most importantly, will not become a burden on the skin cells. To even out the complexion in general, use foundation and concealers with a light texture.

2. Bright arrows
“Bright arrows are able to add a touch of extravagance and chic to a natural summer makeup in a second,” comments Olga Romanova. - Try browns, wine, metallic, and even fuchsia. When, if not in summer? I highly recommend experimenting with these trending options."

However, calmer shades are perfect for a regular daytime outlet: brown, beige, blue and dark green. If your makeup doesn't go without shadows, don't forget to apply them before drawing the arrows (also read: Draw the Line: How to Draw Perfect Arrows). However, in the summer, we advise you to replace them with a light transparent powder. With its preliminary application on the surface of the eyelid, the lines of the arrows will turn out to be more outlined, and your gaze will be more expressive.
3. Focus on lips
“In the summer, it's important to keep your face clean,” advises Olga. Allow yourself just a little foundation, concealer around the eyes and mascara. But with lips you can roam. Take into circulation any rich lipstick shades. Gothic, maroon, retro 90s, dark brown, pin-up options with classic reds or trendy taupe - all of these options will make your makeup special and expressive in one touch."

However, in summer, it is important not only to focus on the lips, but also to take care of it, because sweat and moisture strive to bring all your labors to nothing in front of the mirror. And here it will be useful to purchase a lip primer in a stick or pencil, which will prolong the durability of the lipstick and prevent it from smearing at the most inopportune moment. Hence one important conclusion: in the summer it is better to play it safe with lip makeup.

4. More light
A well-chosen highlighter can give your skin a healthy glow. But in summer, intense sweating makes it wetter than the cold coffee you take on the way to work. In such conditions, the highlighter starts to shine, and you look with such "beauty" on your face, as if you have just stepped out of an exhausting cycle training.

If it is very hot outside during the day, wait until evening and do not risk applying the highlighter for the rush of the day (read also: “Why the highlighter is the new lip liner”). If you need to use it in the morning, while it is desirable that the effect of the radiance on your face remains with you until late hours, try to choose a product that is not metallic in color: it will unpleasantly make the make-up heavier in the morning. Opt for a creamy highlighter and apply it to the top of your cheeks. “You can also apply a little on the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, on the browbones,” comments Olga.
