The benefits of Botox have long been known to everyone and, by and large, are undeniable. Botulinum toxin blocks acetylcholine, which is secreted by the body to contract muscle tissue. In simple terms, it relaxes the muscles so that they stop contracting and tightening the skin. Injections of this neurotoxin solve many problems: from excessive mimic activity in the forehead and around the eyes, to combating excessive sweating. However, most of all, Botox has become famous as a sure means of combating fine expression lines. Recently, this procedure is being done more and more often by girls between the ages of 20 and 30 for prevention purposes. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, preventive botox is one of the fastest growing trends: since 2010, the number of injections has increased by 32% among the 20-29 age group.
However, do not forget that we are talking about injections, that is, about invasive procedures. Some people are simply afraid of injections. Not to mention those who were born insensitive to botulinum toxin. Fortunately, not all is lost. Dermatologists are ready to offer, if not an equivalent alternative to Botox, then at least the most effective program for the prevention of wrinkles.
Sun protection
The most important thing you can do to avoid premature aging of your skin is to apply products containing sunscreens daily. Research in Australia shows that the skin of people who use sunscreen every day ages more slowly than the skin of people who only remember SPF from time to time. Using a cream with SPF 30 or higher prevents premature wrinkles, especially if you reapply it every two to three hours and avoid direct sun exposure between 11 and 15 hours.
According to the latest FDA findings, it is best to use a mineral sunscreen formula with zinc oxide and / or titanium dioxide, such as LRoche-Posay Anthelios for the body and a mineral sunscreen for the face with SPF 50. It is also very important to avoid tanning salons, as ultraviolet radiation in these bulbs damages collagen, which in turn leads to the appearance of wrinkles and the formation of age spots.

Retinol
Most dermatologists agree that retinoids (a generic term for retinol and its derivatives) are the gold standard in the fight against aging. They not only help soften wrinkles, but also make the skin denser, as they actively stimulate the growth of new cells. This gives the face a healthy blooming appearance. True, the miracle does not happen immediately, and you will have to endure from three to six months, during which you need to regularly use drugs that include retinol. But no one promised that it would be easy!

Antioxidant Serums
Antioxidants help fight free radicals and resist environmental aggression. Vitamins C and E are now considered the most popular. It is they who should be looked for in the composition of products for daily facial care. What's more, antioxidants help skin look younger by increasing collagen production and increasing tissue elasticity (also read: What Antioxidant Creams Are For).

Silicone pads
New trendy must-have, which would be nice to have in your arsenal. This is a great non-invasive measure to prevent unwanted wrinkles from appearing when you sleep and cannot control everything. Fasten the patch on your face and spend the whole night with a calm expression on your face. In addition to "emotional-mimic" calmness, they also help prevent moisture loss, retaining it where it is needed, and promote faster tissue regeneration.

Silk pillowcases
Aesthetes will definitely be pleased with the idea of silk or satin pillowcases, which, due to their smoothness and delicacy, will allow you to sleep even face down, and in the morning to admire the virgin smoothness of your skin. Professionals of "heavy luxury", however, like dermatologists, assure that silk pillowcases are the first defense against the formation of new wrinkles around the eyes and around the mouth, and most importantly - against the appearance of deep creases in these areas. The reason for this property is simple: the absence of unwanted friction, which can harm the skin.

Laser hardware procedures
One of the most effective ways to stimulate collagen growth is laser resurfacing. The doctor uses a nozzle to inflict "laser" blows on the skin, each microscopic "injury" creates a healing zone around itself, which leads to accelerated collagen formation. The technique is extremely effective, but requires some rehabilitation: after each session, redness and peeling of the skin is possible. And several sessions will be required - from three to five, in order to significantly improve the situation with wrinkles (read also: "Take a break: 5 procedures that will erase wrinkles from the face").
