At all times, the breast has been the sacred area of the female body. However, fashion could not ignore it. So, depending on the era, the canon of beauty changed for the shape and size of the bust. Plastic surgeon Dmitry Mikhailovich Saratovtsev told us everything about the evolution of the female breast and - in secret - told us what parameters are in fashion today.
Ancient world
"Fashion for the chest" began in ancient times. According to the statuettes of the Stone Age, discovered by archaeologists during excavations, we can conclude that at that time a voluminous chest was held in high esteem. This is not surprising, since in that era, female breasts probably evoked associations with future offspring. The larger the bust of a woman, the more likely she would be able to feed her children. Therefore, large breasts in those days were not ideal for aesthetic reasons.

After some time, only the mother of offspring was no longer seen in the woman. It was during this period that the ideal of the female breast was formed, which is the closest to our time. Elastic, high breasts with a rounded shape began to be considered the canon of beauty. In those days, a woman gradually became an object of admiration, so considerable attention was paid to the breast.
From Antiquity to the Renaissance
In antiquity, there was harmony in everything in fashion. Therefore, women sought to lift their breasts with a special tape so that it looked tall and elastic. The Middle Ages and the Renaissance were distinguished by the fashion for an almost flat chest. It was the small size of the breast at that time that was considered the ideal, reflecting chastity. But in the Renaissance, a deep neckline entered the trend.

XX century
The past century combines the incongruous. Fashion was divided into two camps: some prefer curvaceous forms (Marilyn Monroe), others prefer small breasts (Twiggy's model). In the 80s, mammoplasty entered the top of the most popular plastic surgeries, where it remains to this day (see also: “Don't even think about mammoplasty myths”).

Today
What is included in the concept of "ideal female breast today?" In fact, many plastic surgeons have come to the conclusion that the perfect female breast does not exist. Many factors are to blame for this. For example, the fact that each nationality, each nation has a unique concept of the ideal female breast. African women are very proud of the pear-shaped shape, while Asian women are sure that the ideal is a tapered breast shape.
Despite the lack of an ideal, the trends of the twenty-first century have not been canceled. Today, natural breasts are in fashion - elastic, striving for naturalness. According to plastic surgeons, the most popular breast size is the second.

However, the rejection of the huge size of the bust is associated not only with aesthetics, but also with physical factors. The owners of large breasts admit that impressive volumes often cause them discomfort. Therefore, some girls who have previously turned to plastic surgeons for an increase in breast volume again decide on an operation. Only now the fair sex is demanding natural shapes and sizes. The times of the breast "like Pamela Anderson's" changed to "less is more."
