The Middle Ages and the Renaissance were distinguished by the fashion for an almost flat chest. It was the small size of the breast at that time that was considered the ideal, reflecting chastity. But in the Renaissance, a deep neckline entered the trend.

The past century combines the incongruous. Fashion was divided into two camps: some prefer curvaceous forms (Marilyn Monroe), others prefer small breasts (Twiggy's model).
