Adolescence ends, but skin problems are not always. Acne can hit you at the age of 30 or 40, even if you did not experience it at a young age. This is the most common skin disease at the moment and can develop for many reasons. Hormonal disruptions, unhealthy diet, stress and much more make every day a challenge for your skin.
However, if the factors still take their toll and the rashes begin to become a "familiar" story, this does not mean at all that you should forget about makeup and limit yourself to preventive measures. In this case, it is important to adhere to the tips from our list, which will tell you how to correctly apply cosmetics for acne - from applying it to removing it.
1. Use cosmetics for your skin type

No matter how popular the brand of a product is, it is important that it suits your skin type. Dermatologists advise avoiding any products with a moisturizing base intended for dry skin. Such funds can provoke even more clogging of pores and, as a result, lead to increased rashes. If you encounter them on a regular basis, go for products designed for oily and acne-prone skin.
2. Choose multifunctional tools
Multitasking in cosmetics has long ceased to be just a fashion trend and has managed to migrate into the characteristics of a truly high-quality beauty product. Today, many cosmetics manufacturers rely on the "decorative plus care" formula. This way you can even out your complexion and take care of your skin in one go. If she is prone to frequent breakouts, look for an ingredient such as salicylic acid in makeup formulations: it will help reduce the activity of bacteria that cause acne, as well as clear clogged pores of accumulated grease and dirt - just what is most often the cause of problems with skin.

3. Choose mineral-based products

The trend for mineral water is not devoid of validity: mineral water is pure water in which there are no foreign particles - potential aggressors for your dermis. Plus, you can rest assured that it is free of preservatives and allergenic substances - an important bonus for those fighting acne.
4. Correctly mask acne
After you have applied a light layer of foundation, use a small brush (even a paintbrush will work) to apply concealer on top of problem areas (see also: “How to hide bruises and redness on the face, or Everything you need to know about colored concealers "). Then gently smudge the edges so that no transition is noticeable. To set the concealer, apply a small amount of powder (one with a skin tone) to the areas treated with the concealer.
5. Choose the right shade of concealer

Perhaps this is one of the most important points on our list when we talk about makeup itself. If you're using a base, warm or neutral shades work best. Avoid cold tones, which in any case will unprofitably highlight the redness on the face. If you managed to hide them, after that you can give yourself free rein and use any shades of eyeshadow, blush and lipstick. If you still failed to disguise acne, exclude pink, red and purple tones, which also emphasize redness disadvantageously. But shades such as, for example, coral or peach, will be the perfect solution to the problem.
6. Draw attention away from problem areas with makeup
Do not be afraid to conjure up make-up in situations when your skin had a bad day, but today you need to look like a million. If everything is clear in the lip area, apply a bold lipstick shade or a glossy shade. Otherwise, try to make a spectacular accent on the eyes - arrows or smoky eyes will be a win-win.
7. Be careful when choosing a cleanser

If rashes haunt your skin, pay special attention to choosing a face cleanser. The best option would be a product that contains glycolic acid - it perfectly removes all accumulated toxins from the pores. Salicylic acid products are also suitable. However, one thing is important to keep in mind: after applying any cleanser, rinse it off with plain warm water. And this applies even to those products on which there is a mark “do not need to be washed off”. Also, try not to press hard on your face during the cleansing procedure - this can damage pimples and only aggravate the situation.

8. Do a face mask once a week
Today, cosmetics manufacturers produce a huge variety of all kinds of masks - so there is definitely something to choose from. If you're struggling with acne, cucumber gel masks should be considered to help soothe skin, reduce redness and pleasantly cool sore areas (read also: 5 Facial Mask Recipes You Can Do At Home).
