What is chiromassage?
Chiromassage, or Spanish massage, is the "invention" of the Spanish physician Enrique Garcia Castells. It is based on a technique proposed at the beginning of the 20th century by a naturopathic physician Ferrandis, the founder of the Spanish school of massage, which is aimed not only at the physical, but also at the psycho-emotional state of a person.
The basic principle of Spanish massage is the simultaneous effect on all body systems (lymphatic, circulatory and nervous), as well as on muscles and joints. And since the state of each person is unique, then the massage technique in each case is selected individually.
Translated from Latin, "chiro" means "hand", so chiromassage is performed not only with the fingers and palm, as in classical techniques, but also with the forearms, without using any auxiliary instruments.
Facial chiromassage is so effective that it can successfully replace plastic surgery. It has a pronounced anti-aging effect, perfectly rejuvenates and tightens the skin, restores freshness and tone to the tissues (read also: "10 effective means for saving collagen and elastin"). Indications for facial chiromassage are:
- Saggy skin that has lost its tone;
- Swollen face contour, flew;
- Dry or oily skin;
- Dull complexion;
- Expression wrinkles;
- Lack of nutrients and oxygen in the cells of the epidermis;
- Decreased turgor;
- Age-related changes;
- Swelling and dark circles under the eyes.
The duration of the procedure can be from 15-20 minutes to one and a half hours. The course is usually 10-15 sessions, 2-3 sessions per week. It is recommended to take no more than three courses per year. To avoid undesirable consequences, you should consult with a specialist before undergoing a massage. As a rule, chiromassage is contraindicated in infectious diseases, inflammatory processes, fever and chills, intoxication of the body, dermatological problems (acne, acne, dryness, peeling), damage to the skin.
Chiromassage at home
The chiromassage of the face gives an excellent anti-aging effect: the contour of the face is noticeably tightened, excess fluid is removed, circles under the eyes disappear, the skin is cleansed, becomes elastic and elastic. The vascular network also goes away, the oily skin is normalized, mimic wrinkles are smoothed.
Spanish massage can be performed not only in specialized salons, but also at home. It should be remembered that the result of the procedures carried out by a qualified master will be noticeable after 5-6 sessions, and at home, to achieve a pronounced effect, they may need at least 8. We share detailed instructions for the technique of chiromassage:
1. Skin cleansing
Immediately before the session, make-up and dirt should be washed off from the face, neck and décolleté area. If desired, you can treat the skin with a toning lotion - the massage will enhance its effect.
2. Application of oil
Hands should slide easily over the skin, so be sure to apply a large amount of oil on the palm of your hand. If not enough, massage will lead to the formation of new wrinkles and creases.
The first stage is muscle relaxation. It is achieved through soft and light stroking movements for 15-20 minutes along the massage lines.
The second stage is lymphatic drainage. It is necessary to reduce tissue swelling and activate lymph flow. Lymphatic drainage massage is performed along the massage lines from the bottom up. Particular attention should be paid to the lymph nodes - in their area, pressure should be minimal (see also: "Lymphatic drainage massage and other measures against the age of the body").
The third stage - we continue lymphatic drainage in the neck area.
At the end of the massage, relaxing vibrating movements are again performed.
Light pinching movements will tone the skin.
