When celebrating the new year, any girl wants to be at her best - at the peak of beauty, shape and good mood. So that you do not have to resort to extreme measures, together with the leading makeup artist of NARS Olga Brovtsina we figured out the most common mistakes that we make in holiday makeup.
1. The "second person" effect
Yes, yes, this is the same "mask" effect on the face, or too dense tonal coverage, behind which even your skin is not visible. Of course, a well-applied tone is the first must-done when it comes to a successful make-up image, but there is only one "but" here - observe the measure and do not try to achieve flawless coverage. The pursuit of the ideal in makeup often leads to unaesthetic layering and unnaturalness. And today this is not only not in trend, but also looks ugly.
“This mistake can be avoided if you pay proper attention to skin preparation before applying makeup. Even the thickest foundation will look natural on well-hydrated skin,”advises Olga.
2. Pursuit of resilience
Are you going to throw yourself into a snowdrift after the chimes? Plunge into an ice hole in the country? Arrange a champagne fountain? We don't know what your plans are, but the fear that your makeup will leave you within a few hours after the start of the celebration can have a negative effect on its quality. You should not overdo it, because to give durability it is not at all necessary to apply several layers of each beauty product and fix them with special sprays.
“Try not to put eye shadow, pencil and other makeup products on clean eyelids. First, use a long-lasting eye makeup base - with it it will last as long as you want it,”says Olga.
3. The most colorful of all
Here we mean a combination of a large number of shades in eye makeup. Let's admit: every girl has experienced an explosive color mixture on her face and was horrified by her reflection in the mirror. Calm, only calm! “It's important to remember: use one or two colors in your makeup that will emphasize the shape of your eyes. For a New Year's look, shades of gold or silver, combined with contrasting black, brown or dark blue, are perfect."
4. In all its splendor
Shine and shine again - when, if not in the New Year, you can afford to embody this desire on your face. And, of course, you can't do without a highlighter - the most popular tool in the modern beauty industry, which is not recommended to be applied anywhere. That is why it is important here to know about the boundaries of what is permitted. “You shouldn't put it on all parts of your face and body, as makeup lovers do on different social networks. 5. Deliberation and perfectionism
Too wide or narrow, graphic or disheveled - any extremes with regard to eyebrow makeup automatically increases the likelihood of a beauty fiasco two or even more times: it is really very easy to overdo it in the pursuit of expressive eyebrows.
“Accentuate your natural eyebrow shape with natural shades of pencils or shadows, and don't make them deliberately symmetrical, as if drawn along a ruler. The width of the eyebrows should also be in harmony with other parts of the face, so pay close attention to this while working on a festive beauty image,”advises Olga.
6. There are never too many accents
If anyone is allowed to flirt with a double accent in makeup and ignore the rule of one accent from the height of experience and taste, then this is only for professionals and make-up gurus who are fully aware of the risks they are taking. If you are not one of them, then you always need to remember about balance.
