Sport is good, but the fact remains: serious stress, excessive sweating, contact with a yoga mat can negatively affect the condition of the skin. Unwanted rashes, increased skin sensitivity, redness - often all this becomes the sad result of either excessive zeal or insufficient hygiene (and sometimes both).
“Most of us go to workouts when we can fit classes into our schedule,” says fitness trainer Tatyana Volkova. - But then questions immediately arise: when to cleanse the skin? Should I remove makeup? When to apply moisturizer? It is not so easy to answer these and other questions. " Given the complexity of the task, we propose to develop an individual fitness beauty routine, based on the advice from our material.
Mechanism
When the heart rate rises, blood vessels expand, which means that more blood, oxygen and nutrients enter the skin. Visually, this can manifest itself in the very natural glow from the inside, which we see on healthy hair, receiving all the necessary complex of nutrients. At the same time, with an increased heart rate, the pores open, opening the way for everything on the surface of the skin. And this is less pleasant. In addition to the above, sweat and heat also affect the skin's microbiome, disrupting its natural protective layer, which in turn leads to inflammation, irritation and acne.
Exercise in the morning? Skip the soap
If you "walked" through your beauty routine before bed, woke up, and still feel that your skin is clean and not too oily - do not use cleansers again. The most you need to do is rinse your face with warm water and pat it dry with a towel. It is not at all necessary to resort to a full-fledged morning ritual, because you definitely have to sweat, and secondly, do the same thing after training. So why injure your skin and waste money by using cleansing and lotion twice?

Do you train during the day? Cleanse your face before exercising
Forget grooming and makeup before any exercise. Remember that your pores open when you sweat, and you don't want all the dirt that has settled on your face during the day to get inside. To cleanse your face, use a cleanser with a gentle surfactant and a moisturizing base. If you don’t have foam or milk to clean your face, simply wipe your face with salicylic acid cleansing wipes to remove sebum and dead skin cells that cause acne. Probiotic cleansers (can be used both pre- and post-workout) will also be helpful as they help maintain an ideal microenvironment on tissue surfaces.

If you need makeup, let it be mineral
If you have acne or scars that you would like to hide, or for some other reason you cannot train without makeup, then use a mineral base (read also: "Makeup for acne: 8 rules to follow") … Mineral cosmetics do not contain those chemicals that tend to irritate the skin most and most of all. On the contrary, some products contain ingredients that nourish the dermis and keep it in optimal condition.

Do you train outdoors? Apply mineral sunscreen
Because it's a physical block, the mineral sunscreen starts working as soon as you put it on - so you don't have to wait the traditional 20-30 minutes, but instead go for a run in the park. However, experts say that when they prefer minerals, they are guided by much more important things than convenience. Today, people have come to realize that the chemicals used in sunscreens enter the bloodstream and affect our health. Some of these substances are known to be irritating to the skin, so if you exercise you are more likely to develop an inflammatory reaction to these chemicals. By the way, lips also need sun protection. Look for products that have moisturizers like beeswax and shea butter.

Cleanse your skin after exercise
If you exercise throughout the day, do not repeat your entire morning post-workout skincare routine (otherwise hello annoyance!). Just gently cleanse your skin, moisturize it, and apply sunscreen. If you exercise in the morning or evening, do a complete skin care. This scheme has another advantage - since the pores are open after exercise, then any active ingredients that you apply will be absorbed better and work more efficiently.
If you have trouble getting your face clean before your workout, then prepare for a particularly thorough cleansing in the evening. Wash with an oil-based cleanser first, followed by a gentle gel. Oily products nourish dry and mature skin, and certainly do not contribute to its further dehydration. They are also good for oily skin because they remove excess sebum, but they do not dry out the skin too much (see also: "How to care for oily skin").

Take off your sportswear immediately after class
Most of the training garments are made of occlusive fabric. Take it off after exercise to prevent breakouts. If the skin still has time to suffer, be sure to take a shower and peel the body. Exfoliating will help remove dead skin cells and unclog pores. Preparations containing salicylic, glycolic and lactic acids are especially good. They increase the rate of cell turnover and fight back acne.
