A study by ABC News revealed some curious numbers. In just a year, the number of girls under 30 using Botox increased by 10%. The age bracket is still debated, but some experts tend to believe that Botox is quite effective as a preventive measure.

New Jersey-based dermatologist Jeanine Downie has acknowledged that therapy can help prevent wrinkles and cites a piece of paper as an example. “If you do not crumple the envelope, then there will be no fold line, which means that there will be no breaks and cracks,” the doctor says. By the way, she herself began using Botox only after 30 years and recommends the same to her patients. However, the doctor has many 27-28-year-old patients who seek injections several times a year.

Other experts in this matter are categorical. In their opinion, early injections can do more harm than good. So, the president of the British Association of Plastic Surgeons generally refuses to carry out the procedure to patients under 30 years old. In addition, German researchers have found that using Botox too often leads to addiction. There is a danger of psychological dependence on the drug. “Women who start too early can fall into the trap, they need more and more,” warns Dr. Nanine Ewing.

The surgeons' warnings do not stop girls who dream of perfect skin. “Wrinkles started to appear on my forehead. But after Botox I never saw them again,”commented 23-year-old Claribel Vega, who plans to continue using this remedy. Of the 6.1 million procedures performed annually, at least 100 thousand will be useful for girls under 30 years old.

Expert opinion

Anastasia Kharitonova, Beauty Director of Marie Claire:

It cannot be said that Botox is fundamentally dangerous for health. I am against fanning hysteria around him. Today it is wrong to argue that injections are evil. Botox is the same reality in our life, like light fillings on teeth. However, there are rare, isolated cases when at the age of 20 a serious problem appears - a wrinkle-hall. Then Botox is needed as an exception to the rule.

In other cases, there is no need to use Botox at the age of 20. The condition of the skin at this age and the available cosmetics allow you to keep your face in excellent condition without requiring external intervention. The main danger of early use of Botox is that from the moment of the first meeting with the drug, you have to constantly maintain this state and repeat the injections with a frequency of six months to one and a half years. Another danger of early injections is moral. At the age of 20, a person becomes a person. Our face is shaped by what emotional baggage we put into it, and always reflects our inner world. Therefore, you should not prevent yourself from being who you are. Remember Coco Chanel: “At 20, a woman has a face that God gave her. At 30 - the one that she managed to create. And at 50 you have to earn your face."
