Today, those wishing to correct their appearance with the help of plastics are increasingly choosing combined operations. Of course, they have many advantages, which in most cases outweigh minor disadvantages. However, few people know that not all plastic surgeries can be combined with each other. Why this is so and what is important to know about "incompatible" plastic surgery - we figured out together with a plastic surgeon, candidate of medical sciences Dmitry Mikhailovich Saratovtsev.

What is comboplasty?

Combined surgeries are a great option for patients who want to save not only money but also time. One-step plastic surgeries are best suited for the eternally hurrying residents of modern cities, because in a very short period of time a doctor can solve not one, but several aesthetic problems at once.

Combined operations are divided into several types: synchronous, sequential, and integrated. Sequential operations are considered to be the most common for plastic surgery. They are carried out in stages, that is, one after another. Synchronous operations are performed simultaneously. With regard to integrated operations, they are usually performed by narrowly focused surgeons.

Pros of combined operations

Whatever one may say, comboplasty saves the budget. You need to understand that any plastic surgery itself is not a cheap pleasure. Materials, the work of the surgeon, anesthesia - all these factors affect the final cost of the plastic. Therefore, combined operations are considered a rational solution. Some clinics carry out various promotions for comboplasty, so the sum of the final check may be lower than the prices declared for each individual operation. At the same time, the patient does not have to repeatedly pass tests and go through several rehabilitation periods. However, combined operations have their drawbacks, because some of them simply cannot be combined with each other. They can be divided into three groups.

Head surgery

Rhinoplasty is one of the most capricious operations that do not like “neighbors”. It should be remembered that it can only be combined with a functional operation (rhinoseptoplasty) and correction of protruding ears. It is not recommended to combine rhinoplasty with other operations on the head. At the same time, other operations that are performed on the head or face (correction of eyelids or age-related changes in soft tissues) are perfectly combined with each other.

Breast surgery

Surgeons do not recommend combined operations if you have any inflammatory processes at the site of the proposed plastic surgery. For example, breast enlargement cannot be performed if the patient has a chronic seroma. And in general, if a person has any kind of inflammation, then the best solution would be not to combine operations either on the face, or on the head, or on the body.

Body surgery

Most qualified surgeons do not recommend combining large volumes of liposuction with abdominoplasty (abdominal surgery). What does this mean: large volumes of liposuction? Remember the following numbers: usually this is more than four to six liters. Anything above is considered high volume liposuction. Also, a combination of liposuction in different zones is undesirable (see also: "Who is vaser-liposuction suitable for, and how to properly lose weight with it").

There are basic unspoken rules that cannot be violated in plastic surgery. It is undesirable for the duration of the operation to be more than six hours. Usually, if more time is allocated for the operation, then it is divided into parts and carried out in stages.

In combined operations, the wounds should not be large in area. For example, if someone dreams of mega liposuction, then it is worth weighing the pros and cons again. Such a rash decision can lead to serious consequences. Of course, there are surgeons who undertake such long-term combined operations, but qualified specialists recommend not to take risks.

It should be remembered that no matter how much you want to save money, first of all you need to listen to the advice of a specialist. Due to the individual characteristics of the body, the doctor may prohibit this or that plastic surgery. In this case, you do not need to look for another clinic just because you want to save money. Remember that health is more important than any money (read also: "4 questions to ask yourself before plastic surgery").
