The main point of the honey diet, invented by Mike McInnes, is to eat a tablespoon of nectar before bed with a glass of warm water. During the day, the nutritionist also suggests replacing regular sugar with honey (for example, in tea). So in the body, special metabolic processes are triggered that help us burn fat on our own and, moreover, do not want sweets.

“Even healthy foods that are low in sugar are often oversaturated anyway. This means that our blood sugar levels are at their maximum throughout the day. The body, trying to get rid of the glucose overload, releases the hormone insulin into the bloodstream, which filters blood sugar and distills it into fat,”says nutritionist Mike McInnes. While investigating this problem, he came across an interesting mechanism: each brain cell is surrounded by special glycal cells that control blood sugar and send the amount of glucose the brain needs to work. After doing a lot of research, a nutritionist has found that if we eat too much chocolate or cookies, these cells stop working, and the body begins to malfunction - constantly "begging" for sweets. Dr. McInnes called this "brain hungry" phenomenon.“In desperation, he will send a cocktail of chemical messages to try and get sugar from any other possible source,” says the nutritionist. This is why it is sometimes impossible to stop eating cookies and chocolate.

Dr. Mike McInnes believes that honey can break this vicious circle. “Honey is created from plants by bees, which act as a kind of natural processing plant, partially digesting sugar and changing its composition. This affects the metabolic process in our body,”says the doctor. Research has shown that honey behaves very differently in the digestive system than white sugar. Therefore, the doctor proposes to completely replace sugar with honey and eat at least two servings of fruit a day, an unlimited amount of vegetables, and before bed, do not forget to use honey with a warm drink. This will relieve sugar addiction and about 1.5 kg of excess weight per week with moderate consumption of honey itself, the nutritionist assures.

Losing weight without depriving yourself of sweets is becoming easier: the dessert according to Dr. Ducan's recipe is just for those who are on a diet.
