Summer is a difficult season for the skin, which causes no less problems than winter. Due to increased sweating and intense secretion of sebum, clogging of pores occurs much faster, and an oily sheen becomes a constant companion of makeup. How to prevent the appearance of these problems and support the skin on the hottest summer days - we figure out together with the first Instagram mother and the owner of her own line of cosmetics for hair and body care Irina Hakobyan.
1. Your skin should be hydrated
The most important thing is to keep your skin hydrated. It doesn't matter if we're talking about face or body care. Alas, in order to prevent dry skin, oily creams and serums will not be enough. Pay special attention to your drinking regime: try to drink at least one and a half liters of pure water a day, and you will immediately notice how your skin becomes cleaner, radiant and hydrated.
2. Thermal water is your lifeline
Thermal water will become a true friend in the struggle for healthy, beautiful skin on hot days, so it should always be at hand. At any opportunity, when you feel that your skin requires special care and attention, it looks dry and dehydrated, use thermal water. It can be used everywhere - whether you are at home or on an airplane. Your skin should never feel dry.
3. Less - is more: forget about thick makeup
Try to use the minimum amount of makeup. In hot weather, decorative cosmetics are especially harmful: they severely clog pores and prevent the skin from breathing. As a result, unwanted irritation or acne may appear on your skin, which can be difficult to deal with later. Also, remember to swap out heavy-textured makeup for lighter products that can still do their job without harming your skin. For example, a dense foundation can be replaced with BB cream, which not only mattifies the skin and hides imperfections, but also has a moisturizing effect.
4. Proper cleansing is the key to clean skin
In the heat, regular skin cleansing should be taken as a mandatory rule, because in the summer our pores are especially prone to pollution. It is especially important to follow the basic mode of cleansing the skin in the morning and in the evening, with which you will be helped not only by your usual cleansers, but also by scrubs, masks and patches (see also: "Eye patches: why are they needed and how to use them").
5. Don't touch your face with your hands
One of the main rules, which we began to observe especially carefully due to the pandemic, is not to touch our face with our hands. Try to control yourself and do not touch your face with dirty hands. Change your pillowcases often and avoid terry face towels. After washing, it is better to use paper towels, with which you should gently wipe your face with blotting movements.
6. SPF - SPF - SPF
In summer, these three magic letters solve, if not everything, then a lot. UV filter products must be worn every day, regardless of the season. Even barely visible rays of the sun negatively affect the condition of the skin, stimulating the appearance of age spots and premature wrinkles (read also: "How to protect the skin from solar pigmentation?" "). To help prevent these and many other problems, take care of your skin ahead of time and remember to apply SPF products every day before leaving home.
7. Matting wipes VS powder
Matting wipes are the best remedy for a summer make-up bag. They work much more efficiently than powder, getting rid of oily sheen. Fortunately, these napkins are now available in travel formats, so they can easily fit even in the smallest clutch.
