Our rating of dubious methods for losing weight is headed by the "Egyptian belt". The device, which was used by the ancient Egyptians and Indians, has found new life today. The British company Malory Band has established the production of special thin straps with buttons, which, according to manufacturers, should effectively get rid of extra centimeters. The silver belt is attached at the waist and captures the slightest changes in volume. So, if a person overeats, he should notice the discomfort and stop in time. As the creators of the "miracle lace" say, "the psychology of constant awareness" is at work here. Made of synthetic material, the belt can be worn on-the-fly for months or even years. Interesting, that a special system with loops and buttons allows, in case of losing weight, to tighten the belt tighter - this should also motivate for further feats.
“The belt is not a magic potion, it just motivates you to eat healthy food, eat less, not slouch and keep your abdominal muscles in tension,” the inventors of the incredible device tell.
Why not". To say that this is an "invention" is a fiction to say nothing. An ordinary rope with a button for $ 44 is unlikely to save you extra pounds by itself, but rather extra money. Its motivation is also dubious: eating less does not mean eating right. In addition, irregular eating is the fastest way to accumulate fat: the body goes into a calorie-saving mode and is more likely to start saving everything eaten in fat depots.
Another unusual tool for gaining a beautiful figure was invented by Squirrel Medical, which produces "anti-cellulite" beds. The idea is simple: while you sleep, the vibrating mattress will gently affect problem areas - and the cellulite will go away by itself. The entrepreneurs "spied" on this idea in specialized clinics, where such beds are used to treat sports injuries. The mattress is made using air chambers that inflate and deflate according to a specific program. The bed is in motion all night and should provide better blood flow and lymphatic drainage, and these are important factors in the fight against cellulite.
“Most anti-cellulite treatments aim to reduce body fat while improving tissue circulation and drainage. The bed should provide the same effect, but without any effort on your part,”comments Squirrel Medical.
Why not". Certain vibrations really help to cope with the orange peel. Anti-cellulite massagers stimulate blood flow in the skin and thus help smooth problem areas. However, their main difference is that they act purposefully. The vibrating bed will not have the power needed to disperse the blood. Rather, such a device will resemble massage chairs that are installed in malls so that shopping-weary visitors can relax a little while shopping. In addition, the causes of cellulite can be genetic or hormonal, and this requires more radical measures than a vibrating mattress.
In third place are slimming leggings. In the advertising campaign of the products they assure that the special SlimTech technology will help to lose weight. Fat deposits should disappear thanks to the microcapsules built into the tissue with a special composition that are released onto the skin when worn. Manufacturers claim that the red algae, Japanese sophora tree and copai balsam included in the composition will help solve the problem of excess weight and get rid of cellulite.
“Cosmetic formulas are based on the purest natural ingredients with proven effects to help you lose weight, soften, moisturize and maintain skin tone,” the leggings manufacturers explain.
Why not". Not everyone believed in the magic power of leggings. After customer complaints, an investigation was conducted that questioned the real effect of such clothing. It turned out that there is no clear scientific justification for this method of losing weight. By the way, Georgia May Jagger used a similar idea in her advertising campaign, presenting jeans with a sauna effect.
