Sometimes, following fashion can lead not only to stores, but also to the dentist's office. But the requests to the doctor will be a little non-standard: instead of a filling - rhinestones in the teeth, instead of caries treatment - a tattoo. Oleg Kushch, a dentist-surgeon-implantologist and general director of the Affordable Dentistry network of clinics, helped us understand the most unusual "dental" trends followed by the stars.
Grilzy
You won't surprise anyone with golden teeth, because we saw them in almost every second music artist. A $ AP Rocky, Madonna, Katy Perry, Chris Brown, Tyga, Miley Cyrus and many other stars dazzled fans with smiles of precious metals with a scattering of rhinestones and diamonds of several carats.

This accessory is already crossing the boundaries of hip-hop and pop-culture, and now everyone can order it from special jewelers, having previously made a dental impression at the dentist. Within about two weeks you will have a “smile” of the desired shape. An important point: before ordering, be sure to check with your dentist if you have any contraindications to wearing grills. They should not be worn by those who have an allergic reaction to metals and alloys, or who have been diagnosed with inflammatory gum disease. Grills are also prohibited for children under 18 years of age, as their bite is just forming (read also: "What is the danger of an incorrect bite, and how to fix it").
If there are no contraindications, and you started using grills, do not forget to carefully monitor your natural teeth so that they do not deform and deteriorate under false ones.
Rhinestones in the teeth
Singer Pink found a way to shine even brighter on the red carpet, and transferred a brilliant smile from advertising to real life. A few small stones in the teeth were enough.

The trend for rhinestones, or "skies", is willingly picked up by those who want to diversify their appearance. Stones of various shapes, precious or glass, are fixed to the surface of the teeth with glue. Unlike grills, they are absolutely safe for everyday wear and do not require any special care. If necessary, they can be removed without negative consequences.
Extension of canine teeth
We are ready to go to great lengths to become like idols. So fans of the vampire sagas began to build up their fangs. We do not know whether Fred Armisen ("Excellent student of easy virtue") loves films about vampires, but he also could not resist the trademark smile.

Extension of canines is not the safest procedure, since in its case there is a risk of damaging the lower dentition and the gum. The effect is achieved by grinding native teeth and forming the desired shape from the filling material. Hence the main disadvantage - it will be impossible to return the old real tooth. Dentists recommend increasing the canines by no more than 4 mm in order not to injure the teeth of the lower jaw and the surrounding soft tissues. However, you can do with painless options: onlays or temporary crowns.
Earrings for teeth
If there are accessories for hands, ears and neck, then why can't they also for teeth? Probably, such a question was asked by the stars who decorated their smiles with rings and earrings. For example, Rihanna once emphasized the gap between her teeth with a gold striped earring. It looks bold, bright and unusual, and the best part is that such jewelry is safe for a smile.

Tattoos on teeth
A trend that has bypassed even vampire fangs in originality. In search of creative solutions for life and going on the red carpet, celebrities decided to try tattoos on their teeth.
The procedure itself is usually performed on the crown: any pattern you like is applied to the artificial tooth with special paints, the outer layer is baked at a high temperature, and then installed to the patient (read also: "Myths and truth about dental implantation"). Such a tattoo is safe - it has no harmful effect on either the mucous membrane or the surrounding teeth. But it is important to remember that when installing the crown, the native tooth is ground, and an artificial tooth must be installed on it - with or without a tattoo.

PS:
All of the above trends, despite their popularity, should be followed with caution, since any procedure has certain consequences. Be sure to check with your dentist first.
