The feet are the last link in a single chain linking the skull, spine, pelvis and lower limbs. If you are faced with the problem of deformity of the feet and a bulging bone on the leg, be aware that with great confidence we can say that you have mechanical disorders in the overlying areas. In this case, it is not enough to deal exclusively with the treatment of the feet, trying to return them to their original appearance, since isolated methods of treatment will not give the desired stable result, moreover, it is also harmful.
Why do bones start to grow?
Most often, the cause of such a deformation of the feet is the presence of an injury to the coccygeal-sacral region, in which, like a chain, the pelvic bones first unfold, then the thighs, then the shin bones, and finally the feet. At first glance, it may seem that the deformity of the feet has nothing to do with trauma to the tailbone, since the foot is located far from the impact site, but this is not the case. It is not difficult to figure out why this is happening. Let me give you a simple example. Imagine sailors who plotted a ship's course with an error of half a degree. Having sailed ten kilometers, they practically will not notice the deviation, but after a thousand kilometers the ship will already be in a completely different place. The same happens with our body.

What not to do
The answer is obvious - removal operation. The fact is that any deviations from the norm in our body are aimed at maintaining balance. In our case, the protruding bones are a kind of additional support that the body has been building over the years. What happens if this support is removed? First of all, there will be great difficulties with walking. Even if your feet look perfect after surgery, there is a chance that the severe pain will make it difficult for you to walk. In the event that the operation is performed only on one foot, the load on the other will increase significantly. As a result, your foot may even increase by 1-1.5 sizes, it simply "spreads out", so after the operation you will have to change your entire shoe wardrobe. Using silicone expanders, which are clamped between the thumb and second toe are also a useless way to treat foot deformities.

Why bone problems are more common in women
There are several reasons. Firstly, this is due to the structural features of the female body. The fact is that the pelvic ligaments in women are less strong and stable than in men - they soften during pregnancy and stretch during childbirth. Second, the length of the foot is shorter in women than in men, relative to total weight and body size. So, for example, with a weight of 70 kg for men, the average foot size is 43-45, while for a woman it is 38-40. In fact, it turns out that the smaller structure carries more weight. That is why women's feet are more prone to deformation than men's.

How to heal feet?
The first thing to start with the treatment of the feet is to restore the correct position of the axial skeleton, which can be achieved by eliminating the consequences of a tailbone injury. After the bones are in the correct position, the sacrum and pelvic bones will follow them into place. After a while, the thigh bones and lower legs will tighten behind them, after which it will be the turn to reach the feet. It is also important to bear in mind that the rate of recovery and the effect of treatment will depend on how long ago the deformity appeared. Remember: the sooner treatment begins, the faster you will be able to significantly improve the shape of the foot. In addition, the osteopath will help you to enjoy easy and comfortable walking. Even if the shape of the foot does not quickly become ideal, the legs will stop getting tired, the pain in the feet will decrease.
