The seven-layer method, which came to us from Korea, has managed to take its rightful place in facial skin care at home and is a new word in antiaging medicine and cosmetology, providing a caring, softening, moisturizing and draining effect on the skin. We discussed everything there is to know about him with the founder and chief physician of the Fifth Element antiaging clinic, Yulia Titel.
How it works?
The key idea behind the “seven toners” (or “seven layers”) method is that skin hydration can be increased in an innovative way - without feeling heavy or oily. This moisturizing method is suitable for all skin types and restores a healthy glow and an even tone.
The method itself consists in layer-by-layer application of toner or light watery essence on the skin with palms up to seven times at once - after cleansing and before you moisturize the skin with cream. Korean experts recommend that you apply the products with your hands or spray them as a spray, avoiding, if possible, cotton pads.
The fact is that human hands have a draining and toning effect on the skin: you can use different massage movements - stroking, absorbing, patting and many others to improve the effect of active ingredients (read also: “How to apply care products to enhance their effect "). Before applying the next layer, you must wait until the previous one is absorbed and dried.
Many people underestimate the toner as a powerful beauty product, considering it a minor cosmetic product. However, its role in skin care is very important.
What is toner? It is a liquid enriched with herbal extracts, vitamins and minerals, sometimes with active ingredients like glycolic or lactic acid. By itself, the toner is able to saturate the skin with moisture, which is then "locked" by the care product.
The functions of a toner can be performed by both complex products with an advanced composition, and ordinary flower waters or herbal decoctions. Although the additional components in the composition of the product will certainly contribute to the final effect of use (read also: "The most effective components in modern cosmetics").
It's all about hydration
Moisturizing is the key to healthy and beautiful skin. Reapply moisturizing toner to deeply hydrate skin. Everyone knows that dryness and dehydration of the skin are the two main factors in the premature appearance of wrinkles. This is why the Korean skin care system is so strongly about hydration.
The moisture balance of the skin ensures not only its radiant and fresh appearance, but also a healthy dermis. Lack of moisture causes not only dryness, but also rashes, irritations, acne. Therefore, the "seven layers" method is an excellent solution for maintaining healthy skin, its youth, deep hydration; intensive nutrition and strengthening of the protective skin barrier.
Why exactly is reusable application resulting in such a stunning effect? First, the beneficial substances in the toner do not have time to be absorbed at one time and simply evaporate. In addition, the more layers of toner you apply, the greater the concentration of beneficial substances accumulates in the deeper layers of your skin.
After layer-by-layer application of the toner, cover it with a thin layer of cream, selected according to skin type and season. In this way, you "seal" the active components of the toner in the skin, so that during the day it does not suffer from the loss of components important for its beauty and health.
Many cosmetologists use the “seven layers” technique in Russia as well and recommend applying regenerating serums up to 5-7 times (the optimal amount for maximum absorption of nutrients by the skin). In this simple way at home you can improve your skin condition by choosing beauty products that are right for you.
