Let's not argue, the name of the procedure sounds rather painful, but it's not that bad. Dr. Daron Sequeran, Medical Director at the Sk: n Clinic explains the mechanics of the process: “The doctor uses a nozzle for a special apparatus to apply laser beams to the hair pigment. The light directed to problem areas is converted into heat, which in turn damages the hair follicle and hair follicle. It is most painful where the skin is thin and delicate: for example, in the upper lip or in the bikini area. Fortunately, most modern lasers have a built-in cooling mechanism that instantly reduces the temperature in the epilation area (and it really helps). Another good news: with each new session, the pain sensations become less. And it's not so much about getting used to it as about reducing the number and "strength" of hairs."

Patience pays off

The first positive changes can be seen 2-3 weeks after the first procedure. The very number of sessions in this case ranges from 8 to 12. And this is not a "money scam", but a really strong dependence of the process on individual characteristics: skin tone, hair color and thickness. Some lucky ones forget about all their razor problems after the sixth visit. But it should be remembered that clinic visits must be regular. Since hair follicles are in different stages of growth, it is very important to make sure that each of them has a chance to "get hit".

Don't rush to throw away your razor

While you are undergoing a course of laser hair removal, you will have to use manual labor before the sessions. The hair length at the time of the visit to the clinic should be about 2 mm, then the procedure will be most effective. If you irradiate the regrown hair, the result will be an order of magnitude worse, since the laser energy will be distributed along the entire length of the hair and partially go nowhere. Moreover, the device can provoke the appearance of some irritations on the skin surface. Finally, who will love the smell of burnt hair?

But what you definitely can't do is pluck or lighten hairs between sessions. The work of the laser is directly related to the hair pigment under the skin, and if it is not there, then the beam will simply have nothing to act on. If you want to be “perfectly smooth” throughout the entire process, it's best to take the shave route. After all, this is a well-proven method.

Let's do it fast

Of course, the time of the procedure depends on the area to be treated, but the process is still quite fast. Here are just a few "temporary" landmarks: the face area, taking into account the removal of makeup and a little conversation, takes no more than 15 minutes. Hands take about 20-25 minutes, and legs about 30 minutes.

And then what?

There are some restrictions after the procedure. Since the "heat" from the laser remains in your skin for the next 24 hours, the gym, sauna and hot bath will have to be strongly eliminated during this time. If you ignore this advice and do it your own way, there is a risk of creating an excellent warm environment for the growth of bacteria and provoke the appearance of spots on the skin.

But most importantly, after laser hair removal, you will have to seriously think about the sun.

Dermatologists advise avoiding sunbathing and sun exposure as much as possible before and after treatment. If by the time you decide to get rid of unwanted hair permanently, you already have a tan, then it is better to wait until it turns a little pale, and only then start acting. Lasers work well with paler skin types, so even if the tan looks great, it sometimes diminishes the efficiency of the machine, obstructing the energy on the way to the hair root. After completing the course, you will need to use sunscreens with a decent SPF coefficient every day. After the procedure, the tissues become more sensitive to ultraviolet rays, therefore it is necessary to prevent the appearance of hyperpigmentation.

Your responsibility to yourself does not end there. It is quite possible that you will have to slightly change the usual beauty regime and avoid using belongings and creams with glycolic acid and retinol two days before and two days after hair removal. It is also recommended not to do chemical peels two weeks before and two weeks after the laser. Well, auto bronzants will also have to be postponed for a couple of weeks.

Despite some peculiarities of the procedure, laser hair removal has many advantages. It not only solves the problem of hair at the root, in the truest sense of the word, but also makes the skin perfectly smooth and silky. No other method of "vegetation" removal gives such a result. It seems that nothing has ever grown there ─ sheer infant tenderness and purity.

We recommend:

The Diolaze diode head can be used on almost any part of the face and body and is ready to work even with sensitive skin. It is equipped with a three-dimensional cooling system, which significantly reduces pain during the procedure. A feature of diode hair removal, which must be taken into account, is that the result is visible after 5-7 days ─ since the hairs are not burned, but fall out due to the destruction of the bulb, which does not happen immediately, but gradually in a natural way.

ASCLEPIONtm MeDioStar NeXT® can produce two wave types: 810 and 940 nm. This "organization of production" allows you to safely and permanently destroy hair follicles, even if they lie at different depths of the skin. Moreover, this technology prevents the growth of new unwanted hair. The laser works on all skin phototypes - from the lightest, including albino, to the darkest, hyperpigmented. Another plus is the large number of attachments that allow you to get to the most inaccessible places. The variety of convenient attachments makes it possible to easily remove unwanted hairs of any location, including in hard-to-reach places.

Laser hair removal "Soprano XL" has a modern powerful cooling system, which makes the procedure as comfortable as possible. The device heats up the hair follicle and destroys it. Since the effect is very point-like, the nearby tissues do not suffer from heating. Hair loss begins immediately after the first procedure, but the cessation of hair growth can be achieved only after a full course.

The multifunctional device Omnimax Sharp Light has 8 different attachments - for thermolifting, anti-pigmentation and for photoepilation itself. This is a very smart machine, because before starting work with each specific client, a program is set in it that allows you to completely eliminate any errors and, by the way, to negate the influence of the human factor (the hand trembled, did not think, did not calculate - this is impossible). A high-tech approach allows not only to exclude burns, but also vice versa - to prevent insufficient impulse, and therefore really guarantee the promised result.

Diode laser hair removal with ALMLASERS SpAccord always runs smoothly (in every sense of the word). Thanks to the special SHR (Super Hair Removal) technology, during the movement of the nozzle over the treated area, the tissues are simultaneously cooled, under no circumstances allowing overheating or the appearance of burns. In one procedure, approximately 10-15% of the hair follicles in the active growth stage are destroyed. The procedure can be performed even in the summer and on dark skin. But it is worth remembering that white and gray hair does not heat up and cannot be removed using light methods.
