Recently, the images of Melania Trump, in which she appears at official events, have received increased attention. And it is no coincidence: in social networks, mistakes are not forgiven, and the first lady for the presidency of her husband has already managed to make many fashion mistakes - the choice of not the most appropriate outfits may soon become a tradition.

In June, the trip of Melania Trump to a refugee camp in Texas was actively discussed on social networks. Then, to visit the immigrant center, the president's wife chose a rather controversial outfit, which immediately became the object of criticism: the Zar park with the inscription I Really Don't Care, Do U? ("I really don't care, do you?").

A month later, a snapshot of Melania in the Kitchen Garden near the White House, which was taken in September 2017, came to the attention of Internet users, but this did not stop them from practicing their sense of humor now (read also: Melania Trump in the garden suddenly became a meme). Users discussed awkward postures during photography and perfectly clean shoe soles.

The series of fashionable failures of the first lady does not stop there, and it seems that the new choice of outfit can definitely be on a par with the iconic parka. Melania embarked on her first solo tour of Africa. And for a six-day trip to Ghana, Malawi, Kenya and Egypt, the president's wife really needs a large wardrobe. A storm of criticism fell on the suit that she chose for a safari in Kenya: Melania appeared in khaki trousers and a laconic shirt, and complemented the outfit with a very specific cork helmet. It was he who made her image so scandalous: in the 19th century, "pith helmets" were worn by British colonialists and slave owners - since then in African countries the accessory has become one of the main symbols of the domination and oppression of the African people.

Despite the fact that the main purpose of the trip was the humanitarian program Be Best to improve the quality of life of children around the world, experts note that the tour could be an attempt to smooth over the harsh statement of Donald Trump himself: in January, while discussing the issue of immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and African states, the president used the formulation "the country of the devil's hole." In addition, during his entire presidency, Trump has never visited Africa. As journalists note, the poor choice of the first lady's attire can become a big problem for the United States, showing the superficial and stereotypical representation of the presidential administration about the African people and their history.
