How The Birth Of Princess Eugenie's First Child Will Change The Lives Of Other Windsors

The eldest of Her Majesty's granddaughters, 39-year-old Zara Tindall and her husband Mike, are soon awaiting a new addition to the family. The couple already have two daughters, and at the end of 2020, news spread that in the spring of 2021 they would have a third baby. And although Zara does not take the place of the current member of the royal family, she continues to occupy a place in the line of succession, and with her, her daughters, Mia and Lena.

Zara's 70-year-old mother, Princess Anne, is one of the key members of the BCS. She has long remained the hardest-working of the Windsors, holding the most meetings in a year (and only in recent years has the Prince of Wales started to outrun her). However, despite her authority, Anna is only 14th in line to the throne, which means that her children are even further from the crown than she is.

Royal experts write that next month the position of Anna, Zara, Mia, Lena and the unborn child of Zara and Mike will change. The reason is quite obvious - Princess Eugenia should have her first child. Observers have already established that this event could finally take February off the list of the saddest months for Her Majesty (read also: Day X: When Princess Eugenie's firstborn is born (and why it is so important for the Queen)). However, for Anna's descendants, the meaning of this event is slightly different. Although the royal princess is the second child of Her Majesty and Prince Philip, she was legally required to cede her seat to the throne to her younger brothers, Princes Andrew and Edward, whose descendants now outstrip her in rights to the crown.

The birth of the firstborn Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank will trigger a lineage shift that will affect a number of members of the royal family. The princess, who is not considered an active member of the royal family and does not devote most of her time to fulfilling royal duties, is ranked 10th in line to the throne. Her baby will become 11th in the line of succession, and everyone who is after Eugene will move one number lower.

Princess Anne's son Peter Phillips is currently ranked 15th in line to the throne, right after his mother, followed by his two daughters, 8-year-old Isla and 9-year-old Savannah, who are ranked 16th and 17th in the line of succession. … Zara is inferior in rights to her brother and nieces, being in 18th place, while her daughters Mia and Lena are in 19th and 20th places on the same list.

When Princess Eugenie's child is born, Princess Anne will move to 15th place in the line to the throne, her son Peter to 16th, granddaughters Isla and Savannah to 17th and 18th, daughter Zara to 19th, granddaughters Mia and Lena ranked 20th and 21st. Most likely, when Zara's third baby is born, he will take the 22nd line in the line of succession to the throne.
